Journal ArticleDOI

Formation of Cerium and Neodymium Isocyanides in the Reactions of Cyanogen with Ce and Nd Atoms in Argon Matrices.

TL;DR: The formation of the isocyano Ce and Nd complexes using cyanogen or CN radical are calculated to be mostly exothermic processes, with the exothermicity decreasing as the number of isOCyano groups increases.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Boron atom reactions with acetylene. Ab initio calculated and observed isotopic infrared spectra of the borirene radical BC2H2. A fingerprint match

TL;DR: In this article, the strongest absorption at 1170.6 cm−1 in the B•C2 stretching region exhibits 10B, 13C, and D shifts for 7 isotopic molecules in agreement with MP2/DZP calculations for a BC2H2 borirene radical species.
Journal ArticleDOI

Laser‐Evaporated Aluminum Atom Reactions with Halogen Molecules. Infrared Spectra of AlXn (X: F, Cl, Br, I; n = 1‐3) in Solid Argon.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provided further evidence for transient aluminum dihalide radicals for the four halogens and showed that low laser power favored the primary reaction product AlX and AlX2 transient species over the more stable secondary reaction products AlX3 molecules.
