Organic aerosol components derived from 25 AMS data sets across Europe using a consistent ME-2 based source apportionment approach

TL;DR: In this article, the authors focus on the identification of the main organic aerosol sources and define a standardized methodology to perform source apportionment using positive matrix factorization (PMF) with the multilinear engine (ME-2) on Aerodyne aerosol mass spectrometer (AMS) data.
Journal ArticleDOI

PMF analysis of wide-range particle size spectra collected on a major highway.

TL;DR: Positive matrix factorization is extremely successful at separating the components of on-road emissions including brake wear and resuspension including brake Wear and res Suspension.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hourly elemental concentrations in PM2.5 aerosols sampled simultaneously at urban background and road site during SAPUSS -diurnal variations and PMF receptor modelling

TL;DR: In this paper, Hourly-resolved aerosol chemical speciation data can be used to determine the source origin of atmospheric pollutants in urban environments, where seventeen elements (Na, Mg, Al, S, Cl, K, Ca, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, Sr and Pb) were obtained by time (1 h) and size (PM2.5 particulate matter).
