Journal ArticleDOI
Poor response to clopidogrel: current and future options for its management
Gianluca Campo,Luca Fileti,Marco Valgimigli,Matteo Tebaldi,Elisa Cangiano,Caterina Cavazza,Jlenia Marchesini,Roberto Ferrari +7 more
TL;DR: The impact of clopidogrel poor responsiveness on clinical outcomes, the mechanisms leading to poor effect and the different assays to assess it are reviewed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prediction of 1-year mortality in patients with acute coronary syndromes undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention: validation of the logistic clinical SYNTAX (Synergy Between Percutaneous Coronary Interventions With Taxus and Cardiac Surgery) score.
Vasim Farooq,Yvonne Vergouwe,Philippe Généreux,Christos V. Bourantas,Tullio Palmerini,Adriano Caixeta,Hector M. Garcia-Garcia,Roberto Diletti,Marie-Angèle Morel,Thomas McAndrew,Arie Pieter Kappetein,Marco Valgimigli,Stephan Windecker,Keith D. Dawkins,Ewout W. Steyerberg,Patrick W. Serruys,Gregg W. Stone +16 more
TL;DR: These findings support the clinical application of the Logistic Clinical SYNTAX score and demonstrate the increasing ability to correctly identify patients who would die at 1 year with the Extended Model versus the Core Model, over a wide range of thresholds for mortality risk predictions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Standardized classification and framework for reporting, interpreting, and analysing medication non-adherence in cardiovascular clinical trials: a consensus report from the Non-adherence Academic Research Consortium (NARC)
Marco Valgimigli,Hector M. Garcia-Garcia,Bernard Vrijens,Pascal Vranckx,Eugene P. McFadden,Francesco Costa,Francesco Costa,Karen S. Pieper,David M. Vock,Min Zhang,Gerrit Anne van Es,Pierluigi Tricoci,Usman Baber,Gabriel Steg,Gilles Montalescot,Dominick J. Angiolillo,Patrick W. Serruys,Andrew Farb,Stephan Windecker,Adnan Kastrati,Antonio Colombo,Fausto Feres,Peter Jüni,Gregg W. Stone,Deepak L. Bhatt,Roxana Mehran,Jan G.P. Tijssen +26 more
TL;DR: A document describing consensus recommendations for reporting, collecting, and analysing adherence endpoints across clinical trials is described, guaranteeing robustness and consistency in the comparative safety and effectiveness evaluation of investigational drugs from early development to post-marketing approval studies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Radiation Exposure and Vascular Access in Acute Coronary Syndromes: The RAD-Matrix Trial
Alessandro Sciahbasi,Enrico Frigoli,Alessandro Sarandrea,Martina Rothenbühler,Paolo Calabrò,Alessandro Lupi,Francesco Tomassini,Bernardo Cortese,Stefano Rigattieri,Enrico Cerrato,Dennis Zavalloni,Antonio Zingarelli,Paolo Calabria,Paolo Rubartelli,Gennaro Sardella,Matteo Tebaldi,Stephan Windecker,Peter Jüni,Dik Heg,Marco Valgimigli +19 more
TL;DR: Compared to femoral access, radial access is associated with greater operator and patient radiation exposure when performed by expert operators in current practice and Radial operators and institutions should be sensitized towards radiation risks and adopt adjunctive radioprotective measures.
Journal ArticleDOI
Short term versus long term dual antiplatelet therapy after implantation of drug eluting stent in patients with or without diabetes: systematic review and meta-analysis of individual participant data from randomised trials.
Giuseppe Gargiulo,Stephan Windecker,Bruno R. da Costa,Fausto Feres,Myeong Ki Hong,Martine Gilard,Hyo-Soo Kim,Antonio Colombo,Deepak L. Bhatt,Byeong Keuk Kim,Marie-Claude Morice,Kyung Woo Park,Alaide Chieffo,Tullio Palmerini,Gregg W. Stone,Marco Valgimigli +15 more
TL;DR: Although the presence of diabetes emerged as an independent predictor of MACE after implantation of a drug eluting stent, compared with short term DAPT, long term D APT did not reduce the risk of Mace but increased therisk of bleeding among patients with stents with and without diabetes.
