Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of Fentanyl Versus Morphine on Ticagrelor-Induced Platelet Inhibition in Patients With ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction: The PERSEUS Randomized Trial.
Juan F. Iglesias,Marco Valgimigli,Federico Carbone,Nathalie Lauriers,Pier Giorgio Masci,Sophie Degrauwe +5 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Rationale and study design of the RESERVOIR trial: A randomized trial comparing reservoir‐based polymer‐free amphilimus‐eluting stents versus everolimus‐eluting stents with durable polymer in patients with diabetes mellitus
Rafael Romaguera,Salvatore Brugaletta,Josep Gomez-Lara,Eduardo Pinar,Pilar Jiménez-Quevedo,Montserrat Gracida,Gerard Roura,José Luis Ferreiro,Luis Teruel,Joan-Antoni Gomez-Hospital,Eduard Montanya,Fernando Alfonso,Marco Valgimigli,Manel Sabaté,Angel Cequier +14 more
TL;DR: The aim of this trial is to assess the efficacy of the AES in patients with DM compared with the cobalt chromium everolimus‐eluting stent with non‐erodible polymer (EES).
Journal ArticleDOI
Incidence and impact of renal dysfunction on clinical outcomes after transcatheter aortic valve implantation.
Anna Franzone,Stefan Stortecky,Thomas Pilgrim,Masahiko Asami,Jonas Lanz,Dik Heg,Bettina Langhammer,Raffaele Piccolo,Joe K.T. Lee,Fabien Praz,Lorenz Räber,Marco Valgimigli,Eva Roost,Stephan Windecker +13 more
TL;DR: Pre-procedural renal dysfunction differentially affects early clinical outcomes, although the magnitude of this association is diluted over time by the overriding effect of underlying risk and comorbidities.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sex differences in distribution, management and outcomes of combined ischemic-bleeding risk following acute coronary syndrome.
Mohamed O. Mohamed,Muhammad Rashid,Adam Timmis,Sarah C. Clarke,Claire A. Lawson,Erin D. Michos,Chun Shing Kwok,Mark A de Belder,Marco Valgimigli,Mamas A. Mamas +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors performed a multivariable logistic regression to examine association between risk groups and guideline-recommended management and in-hospital outcomes, and found that those with dual high-risk for bleeding and recurrent ischemia, especially females, are less likely to receive guidelinerecommended therapy and experience significantly worse outcomes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Neurohormones, cytokines and programmed cell death in heart failure: a new paradigm for the remodeling heart.
Marco Valgimigli,Salvatore Curello,Claudio Ceconi,Laura Agnoletti,Laura Comini,Tiziana Bachetti,Elisa Merli,Roberto Ferrari +7 more
TL;DR: This research presents a new approach to cardiology called “Cardiovascular Physiopatholgy Modelling,” which aims to provide real-time information about the autonomic nervous system and its role in disease progression.
