Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of dietary supplementation of Padauk (Pterocarpus soyauxii) leaf on high fat diet/streptozotocin induced diabetes in rats' brain and platelets.
J.A. Saliu,Ganiyu Oboh,Olasunkanmi S. Omojokun,João Rocha,Maria Rosa Chitolina Schetinger,Jessie Guterries,Naiara Stefanello,Fabiano B. Carvalho,Roberta Schmatz,Vera Maria Morsch,Aline Augusti Boligon +10 more
TL;DR: Padauk leaf exhibited modulatory effects on purinergic and cholinergic enzymes involved in the prevention of platelet abnormality and consequent vascular complications in diabetic state.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lung and blood lymphocytes NTPDase and acetylcholinesterase activity in cigarette smoke-exposed rats treated with curcumin
Jeandre Augusto dos Santos Jaques,João Felipe Peres Rezer,Jader B. Ruchel,Lara Vargas Becker,Cíntia Saydelles da Rosa,Viviane do Carmo Gonçalves Souza,Sônia Cristina Almeida da Luz,Jessié Martins Gutierres,Jamile F. Gonçalves,Vera Maria Morsch,Maria Rosa Chitolina Schetinger,Maria Rosa Chitolina Schetinger,Daniela B.R. Leal +12 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated the activity of the enzymes NTPDase (EC 3.6.1.7) and acetylcholinesterase (AChE) in lung lymphocytes and peripheral lymphocytes (PL) from cigarette smoke-exposed rats treated with curcumin (Cur).
Journal ArticleDOI
Dietary supplementation of tiger nut alters biochemical parameters relevant to erectile function in l-NAME treated rats.
Ayodeji A. Olabiyi,Fabiano B. Carvalho,Nathieli B. Bottari,Thauan Faccin Lopes,Pauline da Costa,Naiara Stefanelo,Vera Maria Morsch,Afolabi A. Akindahunsi,Ganiyu Oboh,Maria Rosa Chitolina Schetinger +9 more
TL;DR: Dietary supplementation with tiger nut caused a reduction on the activities of the above enzymes and up regulated nitric oxide levels when compared to the control group, and the effect of tiger nut supplemented diet may be said to prevent alterations of the Activities of the enzymes relevant in erectile function.
Journal ArticleDOI
Morsch,Maria Rosa Chitolina Schetinger,Vera Maria Morsch,Marcelo Cecim +9 more
TL;DR: Results indicated that the extract of Syzygium cumini bark does not possess hypoglycemic effect in alloxan diabetic induced rats and the antioxidant effect of this plant was not enough to reduce the production of TBA-RS significantly.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hypoxia-ischemia alters nucleotide and nucleoside catabolism and Na+,K+-ATPase activity in the cerebral cortex of newborn rats.
Victor Camera Pimentel,Daniela Zanini,Andréia Machado Cardoso,Roberta Schmatz,Margarete Dulce Bagatini,Jessié Martins Gutierres,Fabiano B. Carvalho,Jéssica Lopes Gomes,Maribel Antonello Rubin,Vera Maria Morsch,Maria Beatriz Moretto,Mariana Colino-Oliveira,Ana M. Sebastião,Maria Rosa Chitolina Schetinger +13 more
TL;DR: The results may help the understanding of the mechanism by which adenosine is produced following neonatal HI injury, therefore highlighting putative therapeutical targets to minimize ischemic injury and enhance recovery.
