Journal ArticleDOI

Enhanced NTPDase and 5′-nucleotidase activities in diabetes mellitus and iron-overload model

TL;DR: It is concluded that diabetes mellitus in association with iron-overload increased the hydrolysis of adenine nucleotides in platelets, contributing to the abnormalities found in these pathological conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

The signaling effects of ATP on melanoma-like skin cancer.

TL;DR: The enzymatic activity analysis revealed that even with higher ATP doses cells metabolize adenine nucleotides less efficiently, and present low ATP, ADP and AMP hydrolytic activity in CM compared to CT cells.
Journal ArticleDOI

Resveratrol-mediated reversal of changes in purinergic signaling and immune response induced by Toxoplasma gondii infection of neural progenitor cells.

TL;DR: It is confirmed that RSV counteracted T. gondii-promoted effects on enzymes hydrolyzing extracellular nucleotides and nucleosides and also upregulated P2X7 and A2A receptor expression and activity, modulating INF-γ, TNF-α, and IL-10 cytokine production, which plays an integral role in the immune response against T. Gondii.
