Numerical modeling of flow and pollutant dispersion in street canyons with tree planting
TL;DR: In this article, the impact of tree planting on airflow and traffic pollutant dispersion in urban street canyons have been performed using the commercial CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) code MISKAM.
Journal ArticleDOI

Santiago,Alberto Martilli,Martin Piringer,Kathrin Baumann-Stanzer,Marcus Hirtl,Alexander Baklanov,Roman Nuterman,Alexander V. Starchenko +30 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe the use of a general methodology tailored to the evaluation of micro-scale meteorological models applied to flow and dispersion simulations in urban areas, which has been tested through a large modelling exercise involving many groups across Europe.
Journal ArticleDOI
Aerodynamic effects of forward blade skew in axial flow rotors of controlled vortex design
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of circumferential forward skew on blade aerodynamics were investigated on axial flow fan rotors of controlled vortex design (CVD), at their design flow rate, in order to investigate the effect of forward-skewed blade tip.
Journal ArticleDOI
Simulation of flow in an idealised city using various CFD codes
TL;DR: In the framework of the COST 732 action, several teams run models to verify the proposed Best Practice Guideline (Franke et al, 2007) as mentioned in this paper, which concerns the Mock Urban Setting Test (MUST) experiment, where wind field and dispersion measurements were conducted for an array of obstacles as a full-scale experiment, as well as in a wind tunnel.
Flow and dispersal simulations of the mock urban setting test
Joachim Eichhorn,Márton Balczó +1 more
TL;DR: An improved version of the microscale flow model MISKAM has been used to simulate three-dimensional wind and turbulence fields for the Mock Urban Setting Test (MUST) and the model has been evaluated following the German guideline for obstacle resolving microscale models.
