Lumped-element analysis and design of CMOS distributed amplifiers with image impedance termination

TL;DR: This paper presents a systematic matrix-based lumped-element analysis of CMOS distributed amplifiers (DAs) and results clearly indicate an improved voltage gain and a better gain uniformity over the bandwidth of the proposed DA design terminated at its image impedance compared with the amplifier terminate at its nominal TL characteristics impedance.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

A formulation for quick evaluation and optimization of digital CMOS circuits

TL;DR: This paper introduces a first-order formulation based on the widths of the transistors for quick evaluation and optimization of the delay and energy in digital CMOS circuits and applies the formulation to obtain simple, closed-form expressions for a number of important parameters.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

A 3-10 GHz Low-Noise Amplifier for Ultra-Wideband Applications

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used the unwanted effect of the gate-drain capacitor of transistors on the input impedance to their benefit, the operation of the conventional narrowband LNA is extended to provide a very good input matching from 3 GHz to 10 GHz.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

A 10-GHz 15-dB Four-Stage Distributed Amplifier in 0.18μm CMOS Process

TL;DR: The proposed design eliminates the need for transmission line capacitors and, consequently, uses significantly smaller spiral inductors compared with the previous designs, using the minimum size inductor, the bandwidth of the amplifiers is extended, and the quality factors of the on-chip inductor are improved.
