Antidiabetic activity of Aloe vera and histology of organs in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats
TL;DR: In diabetic rats and diabetic rats fed with A. vera, no change was noticed in the kidney and stomach, while in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats, the fasting plasma glucose levels were reduced to normal and body weight was found to be increased.
Journal ArticleDOI
Curcumin inhibits glyoxalase 1: a possible link to its anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor activity.

TL;DR: Results indicate that inhibition of Glo1 by curcumin may result in non-tolerable levels of MGO and GSH, which, in turn, modulate various metabolic cellular pathways including depletion of cellular ATP and G SH content.
Journal ArticleDOI
A review on recent developments for biomolecule separation at analytical scale using microfluidic devices
TL;DR: This review highlights articles published since 2010 that reports the use of microfluidic devices to separate biomolecules (DNA, RNA and proteins) using chromatography principles (size, charge, hydrophobicity and affinity) along with microchip capillary electrophoresis, isotachophoresis etc.
Journal ArticleDOI
Immobilized metal ion affinity partitioning, a method combining metal-protein interaction and partitioning of proteins in aqueous two-phase systems.
TL;DR: The results indicate that immobilized metal ion affinity partitioning provides excellent potential for the extraction of proteins.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rapid one-step purification of goat immunoglobulins by immobilized metal ion affinity chromatography.
TL;DR: The mild elution pH, high flow rate, and synthetic nature of the ligand support make this new metal-chelating gel a powerful alternative to the use of other currently available commercial gels commonly used for immunoglobulin purification.
