TL;DR: The term "vulnerable patient" may be more appropriate and is proposed now for the identification of subjects with high likelihood of developing cardiac events in the near future and a quantitative method for cumulative risk assessment of vulnerable patients needs to be developed.
Patent
Cardiovascular health station methods and apparatus
Morteza Naghavi,Robin Antony Owen,Albert Andrew Yen,Craig Jamieson,Haider Hassan,David Panthagani,Gary L. McQuilkin,Timothy O'Brien +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, a comprehensive assessment of cardiovascular health includes at least two components: risk factor assessment based on epidemiologic studies and functional status of the individual, which can also be included in the comprehensive assessment.
Book
Asymptomatic Atherosclerosis. Pathophysiology, Detection and Treatment

Systems For Replicating The Beneficial Effects Of Physical Exercise And Improving Cardiovascular Health
Morteza Naghavi,Albert Andrew Yen,Timothy O'Brien,Stephan Cleboski,Timothy Brinkley,David Panthagani +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, a system and method for inducing physiological effects of ischemic conditioning and physiological effect of shear stress in a subject's body that mimic the effect of exercise on the subject is presented.
Patent
Systems for replicating the beneficial effects of physical exercise, improving cardiovascular health and athletic performance
Morteza Naghavi,Albert Andrew Yen,Timothy O'Brien,David Panthagani,Steven Cleboski,Timothy Brinkley +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a system and method for inducing physiological effects of ischemic conditioning and shear stress that mimic the effect of exercise using a microcontroller and actuators.
