Journal ArticleDOI

Defective expression of the CD40 ligand in X chromosome-linked immunoglobulin deficiency with normal or elevated IgM.

TL;DR: In this paper, CD40 mAb plus interleukin 4 induced the patients' B cells to synthesize IgE and to undergo deletional switch recombination, which suggests that defective expression of the CD40 ligand underlies the failure of isotype switching in this disease.
Journal ArticleDOI

Erk/Src Phosphorylation of Cortactin Acts as a Switch On-Switch Off Mechanism That Controls Its Ability To Activate N-WASP

TL;DR: It is proposed that Erk phosphorylation liberates the SH3 domain of cortactin from intramolecular interactions with proline-rich regions, causing it to synergize with WASP and N-WASP in activating the Arp2/3 complex, and that Src phosphorylated terminates cortact in activation of N-wASP and WASP.
Journal ArticleDOI

Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome: a comprehensive review.

TL;DR: The absence of functional WASp leads to a severe clinical phenotype that can result in death if not diagnosed and treated early in life, and the treatment of choice with the best outcome is hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
Journal Article

Induction of human T cell proliferation by a monoclonal antibody to CD5.

TL;DR: It is indicated that CD5 should be added to the list of surface molecules that can signal T cells to proliferate.
