Hudson,Thomas J. Hudson +104 more
TL;DR: The gene map unifies the existing genetic and physical maps with the nucleotide and protein sequence databases in a fashion that should speed the discovery of genes underlying inherited human disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Radiation Hybrid Map of the Human Genome
Gabor Gyapay,Karin Schmitt,Cécile Fizames,Hywel B. Jones,Nathalie Vega-Czarny,D.J. Spillett,Delphine Muselet,Jean-François Prud'homme,Colette Dib,Charles Auffray,Jean Morissette,Jean Weissenbach,Peter N. Goodfellow +12 more
TL;DR: The whole genome radiation hybrid panel developed by fusing irradiated diploid human fibroblasts with recipient hamster cells has been used as the starting material for the Genebridge4 panel, being made widely available for genome mapping projects.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quality assessment of whole genome mapping data in the refined familial spastic paraplegia interval on chromosome 14q
Caroline Paternotte,Doda Rudnicki,Cécile Fizames,Claire Sophie Davoine,Delphine Mavel,Alexandra Durr,Delphine Samson,Catherine Marquette,Delphine Muselet,Nathalie Vega-Czarny,Nathalie Drouot,T. Voit,Bertrand Fontaine,Gabor Gyapay,Georg Auburger,Jean Weissenbach,Jamilé Hazan +16 more
TL;DR: Comparison between the YAC-based map and the whole genome mapping data on this interval of chromosome 14q is discussed, and analysis of recombination events in three SPG3-linked families allowed us to narrow the critical interval from 9 to 5 cM.
Journal ArticleDOI
A fine integrated map of the SPG4 locus excludes an expanded CAG repeat in chromosome 2p-linked autosomal dominant spastic paraplegia.
Jamilé Hazan,Claire-Sophie Davoine,Delphine Mavel,Nuria Fonknechten,Caroline Paternotte,Cécile Fizames,Corinne Cruaud,Delphine Samson,Delphine Muselet,Nathalie Vega-Czarny,Alexis Brice,Gabor Gyapay,Roland Heilig,Bertrand Fontaine,Jean Weissenbach +14 more
TL;DR: To identify the gene responsible for this form of HSP, a YAC contig is constructed, five YACs spanning the candidate region into cosmids are subcloned, and four CAG repeats have been identified but none of them is expanded in 26 patients from 13 SPG4-linked AD-HSP families.
