Comprehensive genomic characterization defines human glioblastoma genes and core pathways

Roger E. McLendon, +233 more
- 23 Oct 2008 -
TL;DR: The interim integrative analysis of DNA copy number, gene expression and DNA methylation aberrations in 206 glioblastomas reveals a link between MGMT promoter methylation and a hypermutator phenotype consequent to mismatch repair deficiency in treated gliobeasts, demonstrating that it can rapidly expand knowledge of the molecular basis of cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI

A gene map of the human genome

Gregory D. Schuler, +104 more
- 25 Oct 1996 -
TL;DR: The gene map unifies the existing genetic and physical maps with the nucleotide and protein sequence databases in a fashion that should speed the discovery of genes underlying inherited human disease.
Journal ArticleDOI

Teaching a lay theory before college narrows achievement gaps at scale.

TL;DR: Across three experiments, lay theory interventions delivered to over 90% of students increased full-time enrollment rates, improved grade point averages, and reduced the overrepresentation of socially disadvantaged students among the bottom 20% of class rank.
Journal ArticleDOI

College Students’ Sense of Belonging: A National Perspective:

TL;DR: In a nationally representative sample, first-year U.S. college students "somewhat agree, on average, that they feel like they belong at their school".
