Journal ArticleDOI
Plant Circadian Clocks Increase Photosynthesis, Growth, Survival, and Competitive Advantage
Antony N. Dodd,Neeraj Salathia,Neeraj Salathia,Anthony Hall,Anthony Hall,Éva Kevei,Éva Kevei,Éva Kevei,Réka Tóth,Ferenc Nagy,Julian M. Hibberd,Andrew J. Millar,Andrew J. Millar,Alex A. R. Webb +13 more
TL;DR: It is shown that a substantial photosynthetic advantage is conferred by correct matching of the circadian clock period with that of the external light-dark cycle, which explains why plants gain advantage from circadian control.
Journal ArticleDOI
Neuronal subtypes and diversity revealed by single-nucleus RNA sequencing of the human brain.
Blue B. Lake,Rizi Ai,Gwendolyn E. Kaeser,Gwendolyn E. Kaeser,Neeraj Salathia,Yun C. Yung,Rui Liu,Andre Wildberg,Derek Gao,Ho-Lim Fung,Song Chen,Raakhee Vijayaraghavan,Julian Wong,Allison Chen,Xiaoyan Sheng,Fiona Kaper,Richard Shen,Mostafa Ronaghi,Jian-Bing Fan,Wei Wang,Jerold Chun,Kun Zhang +21 more
TL;DR: A scalable approach to sequence and quantify RNA molecules in isolated neuronal nuclei from a postmortem brain, generating 3227 sets of single-neuron data from six distinct regions of the cerebral cortex demonstrates a robust and scalable method for identifying and categorizing single nuclear transcriptomes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characterizing transcriptional heterogeneity through pathway and gene set overdispersion analysis.
Jean Fan,Neeraj Salathia,Rui Liu,Gwendolyn E. Kaeser,Yun C. Yung,Joseph L Herman,Fiona Kaper,Jian-Bing Fan,Kun Zhang,Jerold Chun,Peter V. Kharchenko +10 more
TL;DR: The authors developed pathway and gene set overdispersion analysis (PAGODA) to resolve multiple, potentially overlapping aspects of transcriptional heterogeneity by testing gene sets for coordinated variability among measured cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
FLOWERING LOCUS C Mediates Natural Variation in the High-Temperature Response of the Arabidopsis Circadian Clock
Kieron D. Edwards,Paul E. Anderson,Anthony Hall,Neeraj Salathia,James C. W. Locke,James R. Lynn,Martin Straume,Jim Q. Smith,Andrew J. Millar,Andrew J. Millar +9 more
TL;DR: It was shown that FLC lengthened the circadian period specifically at 27°C, contributing to temperature compensation of the circadian clock.
Journal ArticleDOI
HSP90 affects the expression of genetic variation and developmental stability in quantitative traits
Todd A. Sangster,Neeraj Salathia,Soledad F. Undurraga,Ron Milo,Kurt Schellenberg,Susan Lindquist,Christine Queitsch +6 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that HSP90-dependent alleles occur in continuously distributed, environmentally responsive traits and are amenable to quantitative genetic mapping techniques, and it is found that developmental stability is a phenotypic trait that can be affected by natural variation.
