Journal ArticleDOI
Expert consensus document: European Consensus Statement on congenital hypogonadotropic hypogonadism—pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment
Ulrich Boehm,Pierre Bouloux,Mehul T. Dattani,Nicolas de Roux,Catherine Dodé,Leo Dunkel,Andrew A. Dwyer,Paolo Giacobini,J.-P. Hardelin,Anders Juul,Mohamad Maghnie,Nelly Pitteloud,Vincent Prevot,Taneli Raivio,Manuel Tena-Sempere,Richard Quinton,Jacques Young +16 more
TL;DR: A timely diagnosis and treatment to induce puberty can be beneficial for sexual, bone and metabolic health, and might help minimize some the psychological effects of CHH.
Journal ArticleDOI
Novel role for anti-Müllerian hormone in the regulation of GnRH neuron excitability and hormone secretion.
Irene Cimino,Irene Cimino,Filippo Casoni,Filippo Casoni,Filippo Casoni,Xinhuai Liu,Andrea Messina,Andrea Messina,Jyoti Parkash,Jyoti Parkash,Soazik P. Jamin,Sophie Catteau-Jonard,Sophie Catteau-Jonard,Francis Collier,Marc Baroncini,Marc Baroncini,Didier Dewailly,Didier Dewailly,Pascal Pigny,Mel Prescott,Rebecca Campbell,Allan E. Herbison,Vincent Prevot,Vincent Prevot,Paolo Giacobini,Paolo Giacobini +25 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that a significant subset of GnRH neurons both in mice and humans express the AMH receptor, and that AMH potently activates the GnRH neuron firing in mice, supporting a central action of AMH on Gn RH neurons.
Journal ArticleDOI
Elevated prenatal anti-Müllerian hormone reprograms the fetus and induces polycystic ovary syndrome in adulthood
Brooke Tata,Brooke Tata,Nour El Houda Mimouni,Nour El Houda Mimouni,Anne-Laure Barbotin,Samuel A. Malone,Samuel A. Malone,Anne Loyens,Anne Loyens,Pascal Pigny,Didier Dewailly,Didier Dewailly,Sophie Catteau-Jonard,Sophie Catteau-Jonard,Inger Sundström-Poromaa,Terhi Piltonen,Federica Dal Bello,Claudio Medana,Vincent Prevot,Vincent Prevot,Jerome Clasadonte,Jerome Clasadonte,Paolo Giacobini,Paolo Giacobini +23 more
TL;DR: A critical role is highlighted for excess prenatal AMH exposure and subsequent aberrant GnRH receptor signaling in the neuroendocrine dysfunctions of PCOS, while offering a new potential therapeutic avenue to treat the condition during adulthood.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tridimensional Visualization and Analysis of Early Human Development.
Morgane Belle,David Godefroy,Gérard Couly,Samuel A. Malone,Francis Collier,Paolo Giacobini,Alain Chédotal +6 more
TL;DR: It is found that the adult-like pattern of skin innervation is established before the end of the first trimester, showing important intra- and inter-individual variations in nerve branches.
Journal ArticleDOI
SEMA3A, a Gene Involved in Axonal Pathfinding, Is Mutated in Patients with Kallmann Syndrome
Naresh Kumar Hanchate,Paolo Giacobini,Paolo Giacobini,Paolo Giacobini,Pierre Lhuillier,Jyoti Parkash,Jyoti Parkash,Jyoti Parkash,Cécile Espy,Corinne Fouveaut,Chrystel Leroy,Stéphanie Baron,Céline Campagne,Céline Campagne,Céline Campagne,Charlotte Vanacker,Charlotte Vanacker,Charlotte Vanacker,Francis Collier,Francis Collier,Corinne Cruaud,Vincent Meyer,Alfons Garcia-Piñero,Didier Dewailly,Christine Cortet-Rudelli,Ksenija Gersak,Chantal Metz,Gérard Chabrier,Michel Pugeat,Jacques Young,J.-P. Hardelin,Vincent Prevot,Vincent Prevot,Vincent Prevot,Catherine Dodé +34 more
TL;DR: It is reported that Nrp1 sema/sema mutant mice that lack a functional semaphorin-binding domain in neuropilin-1, an obligatory coreceptor of semapharin-3A, have a KS–like phenotype and this indicates that semaphorein- 3A signaling insufficiency contributes to the pathogenesis of KS.
