Cardiomyocyte functional screening: interrogating comparative electrophysiology of high-throughput model cell systems

TL;DR: This is the first study to compare the intrinsic electrophysiologic properties of cultured cardiomyocyte preparations commonly used for in vitro Electrophysiology assessment and offer important comparative data to inform methodological approaches in the use of MEA and other techniques relating to carduomyocyte functional screening investigations of particular relevance to arrhythmogenesis.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Biomarkers NT-proBNP and CA-125 are Elevated in Patients with Idiopathic Atrial Fibrillation.

TL;DR: This exploratory study, investigating over 90 cardiovascular blood biomarkers in patients without known CVD, identified one established biomarker for paroxysmal AF, NT-proBNP, and a novel marker, CA-125, which may be a potential indicator of remote parxysms of AF.
