Pettis,Romina Rader,Blande F. Viana +24 more
TL;DR: The authors in this paper provided a critical assessment of the full range of issues facing decision-makers, including the value of pollination and pollinators, status, trends and threats to pollinators and pollination, and policy and management options.
Journal ArticleDOI

Rawal,Akhmad Rizali,Antonio Mauro Saraiva,Ruan Veldtman,Blandina Felipe Viana,Sidia Witter,Hong Zhang +34 more
TL;DR: This study quantifies to what degree enhancing pollinator density and richness can improve yields on 344 fields from 33 pollinator-dependent crop systems in small and large farms from Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
Journal ArticleDOI
Biocultural approaches to pollinator conservation
Rosemary Hill,Rosemary Hill,Guiomar Nates-Parra,José Javier G. Quezada-Euán,Damayanti Buchori,Gretchen LeBuhn,Márcia Motta Maués,Petina L. Pert,Peter Kwapong,Shafqat Saeed,Sara Jo Breslow,Manuela Carneiro da Cunha,Manuela Carneiro da Cunha,Lynn V. Dicks,Leonardo Galetto,Mary Gikungu Gikungu,Brad G. Howlett,Vera Lúcia Imperatriz-Fonseca,Phil O'b. Lyver,Berta Martín-López,Elisa Oteros-Rozas,Simon G. Potts,Marie Roué +22 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used the Conceptual Framework of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) to analyse the biocultural approaches to pollinator conservation by indigenous peoples and local communities globally.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dynamics of insect pollinators as influenced by cocoa production systems in Ghana
TL;DR: The results suggest appropriate cocoa intercrop can enhance cocoa pollination, and the current farming system in Ghana can conveniently accommodate such interventions without significant changes in farm practices.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Utility of Aerial Pan-Trapping for Assessing Insect Pollinators Across Vertical Strata
TL;DR: This paper presents a method of ‘aerial pan-trapping’ that allows insect pollinators to be sampled across the vertical strata from the canopy of forests to agro-ecosystems and confirms the efficacy of this approach at heights of up to 30 metres and the effects of trap color on catch.
