Intervalence Transfer at the Localized-to-Delocalized, Mixed-Valence Transition in Osmium Polypyridyl Complexes

TL;DR: The pyrazine-bridged complexes have properties that place them in a new class of mixed-valence molecules, Class II-III having properties associated with both Class II and Class III in the Robin and Day classification scheme.
Journal ArticleDOI

Well-defined enantiopure 1,1'-binaphthyl-based oligomers: synthesis, structure, photophysical properties, and chiral sensing.

TL;DR: The present work demonstrates the potential of constructing chiral sensory materials based on well-defined enantiopure oligonaphthyls and can be effectively and enantioselectively quenched with trans-1,2-diaminocyclohexane with an enantiosity factor of 1.24.

Topographic models of vascular plant richness in the southern Appalachian high peaks

TL;DR: In this paper, a vascular plant survey of the southern Appalachian high peaks, U.S.A., was used to model the relationship between five floristic categories of species richness (total, high elevation, northern, endemic and rare species), six topographic variables (area above 1680 m, area above 1830 m, maximum elevation, number of peaks, inter-mountain distance and latitude) and the number of community types.
