Journal ArticleDOI

Laser nitriding of metals

TL;DR: In this paper, the laser nitriding of iron, carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum was investigated employing a combination of complementary methods, such as ion beam analysis (Rutherford Backscattering Spectroscopy and Resonant Nuclear Reaction Analysis) for element and isotope profiling.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Near Infrared Light Triggered Hydrogenated Black TiO2 for Cancer Photothermal Therapy

TL;DR: It is shown that photothermal effect of H‐TiO2 NPs can be attributed to their dramatically enhanced nonradiative recombination, and they exhibit low toxicity, high efficiency as a photothermal agent for cancer therapy, and are promising for further biomedical applications.
Journal ArticleDOI

Paleogene continental margin truncation in southwestern Mexico: Geochronological evidence

TL;DR: In this article, a geochronological data and structural relationships between mylonite zones and plutons in the Acapulco-Tehuantepec area were used to estimate the movement of Chortis from about 40-25 Ma to about 1100 km to the SE along a transform boundary associated with the opening of the Cayman Trough.
Journal ArticleDOI

Slightly hydrogenated TiO2 with enhanced photocatalytic performance

TL;DR: In this paper, the structural properties of H-TiO2 and their effects on photo-generated charges are comprehensively investigated, and it is shown that the higher ratio of trapped holes (O− centers) and a lower recombination rate induced by the increase of surface defects might be the critical factors for the high activity of s-H- TiO2.
Journal ArticleDOI

Geochemical Evidence for Mantle Origin and Crustal Processes in Volcanic Rocks from Popocatépetl and Surrounding Monogenetic Volcanoes, Central Mexico

TL;DR: For example, Popocatepetl volcano and immediately surrounding monogenetic scoria cones of the Sierra Chichinautzin Volcanic Field, central Mexico as mentioned in this paper have been examined for elemental, isotopic and mineral compositions as well as rock textures.
