Sunlight, hormone replacement status and colorectal cancer risk in postmenopausal women.
D. Michal Freedman,Preetha Rajaraman,Barbara J. Fuhrman,Richard W. Hoffbeck,Bruce H. Alexander +4 more
TL;DR: Analysis of the association between sun exposure, which is an important vitamin D source, and colorectal cancer risk among postmenopausal women in the U.S. is consistent with evidence from the WHI suggesting a decrease in colore CT cancer risk may be associated with vitamin D exposure among post menopausal women who are not taking HRT, but not among current HRT users.
Journal ArticleDOI
Use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and risk of basal cell carcinoma in the United States Radiologic Technologists study.
Elizabeth K. Cahoon,Preetha Rajaraman,Bruce H. Alexander,Michele M. Doody,Martha S. Linet,D. Michal Freedman +5 more
TL;DR: No association was observed when stratified by NSAID type (aspirin and other NSAIDs), nor did dose–response patterns emerge by frequency of use (average days per month), and further analyses did not reveal interaction with sex, birth cohort, smoking, alcohol consumption, sun exposure, occupational radiation exposure or personal risk factors for BCC.
Journal ArticleDOI
The International Collaboration for Research methods Development in Oncology (CReDO) workshops: shaping the future of global oncology research
Priya Ranganathan,Girish Chinnaswamy,Manju Sengar,Durga Gadgil,Shivakumar Thiagarajan,Balram Bhargava,Christopher M. TL;DR: The International Collaboration for Research methods Development in Oncology (CReDO) workshop is an initiative by the Tata Memorial Centre and the National Cancer Grid of India to address gaps in research training and increase capacity in oncology research as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
Occupational exposure to chlorinated solvents and risks of glioma and meningioma in adults
Gila Neta,Patricia A. Stewart,Preetha Rajaraman,Misty J. Hein,Martha A. Waters,Mark P. Purdue,Claudine Samanic,Joseph Coble,Martha S. Linet,Peter D. Inskip +9 more
TL;DR: There was some suggestion of an association between carbon tetrachloride and glioma in analyses restricted to exposed subjects, but no consistent evidence for increased brain tumour risk related to chlorinated solvents was found.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lack of association between modifiable exposures and glioma risk: a Mendelian randomization analysis.
Charlie N. Saunders,Alex J. Cornish,Ben Kinnersley,Philip J. Law,Elizabeth B. Claus,Dora Il'yasova,Joellen M. Schildkraut,Jill S. Barnholtz-Sloan,Sara H. Olson,Jonine L. Bernstein,Rose Lai,Stephen J. Chanock,Preetha Rajaraman,Christoffer Johansen,Robert B. Jenkins,Beatrice Melin,Margaret Wrensch,Marc Sanson,Melissa L. Bondy,Richard S. Houlston +19 more
TL;DR: This study did not provide evidence supporting any of the 37 factors examined as having a significant influence on glioma risk and excluded associations driven by one single nucleotide polymorphism.
