The oxford iga nephropathy clinicopathological classification is valid for children as well as adults
Rosanna Coppo,Stéphan Troyanov,Roberta Camilla,Ronald J. Hogg,Daniel C. Cattran,H. Terence Cook,John Feehally,Ian Roberts,Alessandro Amore,Charles E. Alpers,Jonathan Barratt,François Berthoux,Stephen M. Bonsib,Jan A. Bruijn,Vivette D. D'Agati,Giuseppe D'Amico,Steven N. Emancipator,Francesco Emma,Franco Ferrario,Fernando C. Weening,Norishige Yoshikawa,Hong Zhang +43 more
TL;DR: The cross-sectional correlation between pathology and proteinuria was similar in adults and children and the predictive value of each specific lesion on the rate of decline of renal function or renal survival in IgA nephropathy was not different between children and adults.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pathophysiologic implications of reduced podocyte number in a rat model of progressive glomerular injury.
Daniela Macconi,Maria Bonomelli,Ariela Benigni,Tiziana Plati,Fabio Sangalli,Lorena Longaretti,Sara Conti,Hiroshi Kawachi,Prue Hill,Giuseppe Remuzzi,Andrea Remuzzi +10 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that reduction in podocyte number is an important determinant of podocyte dysfunction and progressive impairment of the glomerular permselectivity that lead to the development of massive proteinuria and ultimately to renal scarring.
Journal ArticleDOI
High mammographic density is associated with an increase in stromal collagen and immune cells within the mammary epithelium
Cecilia W. Huo,G. L. Chew,Prue Hill,Dexing Huang,Wendy V. Ingman,Leigh J. Hodson,Kristy A. Brown,Astrid Magenau,Astrid Magenau,Amr H. Allam,Amr H. Allam,Ewan J. McGhee,Paul Timpson,Paul Timpson,Michael A. Henderson,Michael A. Henderson,Erik W. Thompson,Erik W. Thompson,Kara L. Britt,Kara L. Britt +19 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors assessed the histological and immunohistochemical differences between matched HMD and low mammographic density (LMD) breast tissues from healthy women to define which cell features may mediate the increased MD and MD-associated BC risk.
Journal ArticleDOI
Melatonin attenuates colistin-induced nephrotoxicity in rats
TL;DR: This is the first study demonstrating the protective effect of melatonin against colistin-induced nephrotoxicity, which indicates that colistIn- induced neph rotoxicity is mediated through oxidative stress, and highlights the potential of coadministering an antioxidant to widen the therapeutic window of this very important last-line antibiotic.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fourteen-gauge needle core biopsy of mammographically evident radial scars - Is excision necessary?
Jennifer N. Cawson,Frank A. Malara,Anne Kavanagh,Prue Hill,Gnani Balasubramanium,Michael A. Henderson +5 more
TL;DR: The authors report their experience with stereotactic needle core biopsy (SNCB) in sampling radial scars, which may mimic breast carcinoma on mammography and usually are managed by excision biopsy.
