Two-dimensional multi-component photometric decomposition of CALIFA galaxies

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a two-dimensional multi-component photometric decomposition of 404 galaxies from the CALIFA Data Release 3. They represent all possible galaxies with no clear signs of interaction and not strongly inclined in the final CALIFA data release.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

MEGARA, the R=6000-20000 IFU and MOS of GTC

Esperanza Carrasco, +85 more
TL;DR: MEGARA as discussed by the authors is the new generation IFU and MOS optical spectrograph built for the 104m Gran Telescopio CANARIAS (GTC) which provides on-sky intermediate-to-high spectral resolutions.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

First scientific observations with MEGARA at GTC

A. Gil de Paz, +81 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the intermediate-resolution optical IFU and MOS of the 10.4m GTC had its first light and the results showed that the versatility of MEGARA in terms of observing modes and spectral resolution and coverage will allow GTC to go beyond current observational limits in either depth or precision for all these objects.
