Eduard Masvidal-Codina,Xavi Illa,Miguel Dasilva,Andrea Bonaccini Calia,Tanja Dragojević,Ernesto E. Vidal-Rosas,Elisabet Prats-Alfonso,Javier Martínez-Aguilar,Jose Manuel de la Cruz,Ramon Garcia-Cortadella,Philippe Godignon,Gemma Rius,Alessandra Camassa,Elena del Corro,Jessica Bousquet,Clément Hébert,Turgut Durduran,Turgut Durduran,Rosa Villa,Maria V. Sanchez-Vives,Maria V. Sanchez-Vives,Jose A. Garrido,Jose A. Garrido,Anton Guimerà-Brunet +23 more
TL;DR: This work uses flexible epicortical and intracortical arrays of graphene solution-gated field-effect transistors (gSGFETs) to map cortical spreading depression in rats and demonstrates that gSGFETS are able to record, with high fidelity, infraslow signals together with signals in the typical local field potential bandwidth.
Journal ArticleDOI
Flexible Graphene Solution-Gated Field-Effect Transistors: Efficient Transducers for Micro-Electrocorticography
Clément Hébert,Eduard Masvidal-Codina,Alejandro Suarez‐Perez,Andrea Bonaccini Calia,Gaëlle Piret,Ramon Garcia-Cortadella,Xavi Illa,Elena Garcia,José Morales Sánchez,Damia Viana Casals,Elisabet Prats-Alfonso,Jessica Bousquet,Philippe Godignon,Blaise Yvert,Rosa Villa,Maria V. Sanchez-Vives,Anton Guimerà-Brunet,Jose A. Garrido +17 more
TL;DR: In this article, the operation of solution-gated field-effect transistors (SGFETs) and characterizing their performance in saline solution were discussed and compared with the performance of state-of-the-art neural technologies.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: The concept of frequency-division multiplexing (FDM) of neural signals by graphene active sensors is presented, and a new generation of conformal neural probes with over a thousand channels for high bandwidth brain machine interfaces is envisioned.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: In this article, the performance of 64-channel graphene sensor arrays in terms of homogeneity, sensitivity and stability using a wireless, quasi-commercial headstage and demonstrate the biocompatibility of epicortical graphene chronic implants.
Journal ArticleDOI
Multiplexed neural sensor array of graphene solution-gated field-effect transistors
Nathan Schaefer,Nathan Schaefer,Ramon Garcia-Cortadella,Ramon Garcia-Cortadella,Javier Martínez-Aguilar,Gerrit Schwesig,Xavi Illa,Ana Moya Lara,Sara Santiago,Clément Hébert,Gonzalo Guirado,Rosa Villa,Anton Sirota,Anton Guimerà-Brunet,Jose A. Garrido +14 more
TL;DR: This work demonstrates the use of a flexible array of graphene solution-gated field-effect transistors (gSGFET), exploring the concept of multiplexed readout using an external switching matrix, paving the way for upscaling the gSGFETS technology towards large-scale, high-density μECoG–arrays, eventually capable of resolving neural activity down to a single neuron level, while simultaneously mapping large brain regions.
