Myers,Andrew G. Nicholson,Moisés Selman,Galen B. Toews,Athol U. Wells,Fernando J. Martinez +29 more
TL;DR: An international effort to summarize the current state of knowledge regarding acute exacerbations of IPF is presented, and proposed diagnostic criteria include subjective worsening over 30 days or less, new bilateral radiographic opacities, and the absence of infection or another identifiable etiology.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Placebo-Controlled Randomized Trial of Warfarin in Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis
Imre Noth,Kevin J. Anstrom,Sara B. Calvert,Joao A. de Andrade,Kevin R. Flaherty,Craig S. Glazer,Robert J. Kaner,Mitchell A. Olman +7 more
TL;DR: Treatment with warfarin was associated with an increased risk of mortality in an IPF population who lacked other indications for anticoagulation and was recommended to stop after 145 of the planned 256 subjects were enrolled.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nintedanib in patients with progressive fibrosing interstitial lung diseases—subgroup analyses by interstitial lung disease diagnosis in the INBUILD trial: a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group trial

TL;DR: The INBUILD trial suggests that nintedanib reduces the rate of ILD progression, as measured by FVC decline, in patients who have a chronic fibrosing ILD and progressive phenotype, irrespective of the underlying ILD diagnosis.

Lung Overexpression of the Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Gene Induces Pulmonary Edema
Robert J. Kaner,John V. Ladetto,Ravi Singh,Norimasa Fukuda,Michael A. Matthay,Ronald G. Crystal +5 more
TL;DR: Data suggest that overexpression of VEGF in the lung may be one mechanism of increased pulmonary vascular permeability in the early stages of acute lung injury.
Lung Overexpression of the Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Gene
Robert J. Kaner,John V. Ladetto,Ravi Singh,Norimasa Fukuda,Michael A. Matthay,Ronald G. Crystal +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an in vivo model of VEGF overexpression in the lung was developed on the basis of delivery to the respiratory epithelium of the VEGGF165 complementary DNA by an E1 2 adenovirus vector (AdVEGF165).
