TL;DR: The case for a dark matter detector with directional sensitivity was presented at the 2009 CYGNUS workshop on directional dark matter detection, and contributions from theorists and experimental groups in the field as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prompt gamma detection for range verification in proton therapy
Shunsuke Kurosawa,Hidetoshi Kubo,Kazuki Ueno,Shigeto Kabuki,Satoru Iwaki,Michiaki Takahashi,Kojiro Taniue,N. Higashi,Kentaro Miuchi,Toru Tanimori,Do Gyun Kim,Jongwon Kim +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors empirically demonstrated that the proton range and prompt gamma distribution are well correlated in the therapy energy range, and that measuring prompt gammas is a viable method for the clinical application.
Journal ArticleDOI
AN ELECTRON-TRACKING COMPTON TELESCOPE FOR A SURVEY OF THE DEEP UNIVERSE BY MeV GAMMA-RAYS
Toru Tanimori,Hidetoshi Kubo,Atsushi Takada,Satoru Iwaki,S. Komura,Shunsuke Kurosawa,Y. Matsuoka,Kentaro Miuchi,Susumu Miyamoto,Tetsuya Mizumoto,Y. Mizumura,K. Nakamura,Shogo Nakamura,M. Oda,Joseph D. Parker,Tatsuya Sawano,S. Sonoda,Taito Takemura,Dai Tomono,K. Ueno +19 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an Electron-Tracking Compton Camera (ETCC) was used to measure 3D recoil electron tracks and recover the Scatter Plane Deviation (SPD) lost in Compton cameras.
Journal ArticleDOI
Spatial resolution of a μPIC-based neutron imaging detector
Joseph D. Parker,Masahide Harada,Kaori Hattori,Satoru Iwaki,Shigeto Kabuki,Yuji Kishimoto,Hidetoshi Kubo,Shunsuke Kurosawa,Y. Matsuoka,Kentaro Miuchi,Tetsuya Mizumoto,H. Nishimura,Takayuki Oku,Tatsuya Sawano,Takenao Shinohara,Jun-ichi Suzuki,Atsushi Takada,Toru Tanimori,Kazuki Ueno +18 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a micro-pattern gaseous detector known as the micro-pixel chamber (μ PIC) coupled with a field-programmable-gate-array-based data acquisition system was used to achieve a spatial resolution of approximately Gaussian with a sigma of 103.48 ± 0.77 μ m.
Journal ArticleDOI
Neutron imaging detector based on the μPIC micro-pixel chamber
Joseph D. Parker,Kaori Hattori,Hiroyuki Fujioka,Masahide Harada,Satoru Iwaki,Shigeto Kabuki,Yuji Kishimoto,Hidetoshi Kubo,Shunsuke Kurosawa,Kentaro Miuchi,Tomofumi Nagae,H. Nishimura,Takayuki Oku,Tatsuya Sawano,Takenao Shinohara,Jun-ichi Suzuki,Atsushi Takada,Toru Tanimori,Kazuki Ueno +18 more
TL;DR: In this article, the micro-pixel chamber (μ PIC) was used to measure both the energy deposition via time-over-threshold and three-dimensional track of each neutron-induced event, allowing the reconstruction of the interaction point with improved accuracy.
