Immunophenotyping of COVID-19 and influenza highlights the role of type I interferons in development of severe COVID-19.
Jeong Seok Lee,Seongwan Park,Hye Won Jeong,Jin Young Ahn,Seong Jin Choi,Ho-Young Lee,Baekgyu Choi,Su Kyung Nam,Moa Sa,Ji Soo Kwon,Ji Soo Kwon,Su Jin Jeong,Heung Kyu Lee,Sung Ho Park,Su-Hyung Park,Jun Yong Choi,Sung-Han Kim,Inkyung Jung,Eui-Cheol Shin +18 more
TL;DR: It is proposed that the type I IFN response plays a pivotal role in exacerbating inflammation in severe COVID-19.
Journal ArticleDOI
PHF7 Modulates BRDT Stability and Histone-to-Protamine Exchange during Spermiogenesis.
Chang Rok Kim,Taichi Noda,Hyun-Kyung Kim,Gi Beom Kim,Seongwan Park,Yongwoo Na,Seiya Oura,Keisuke Shimada,Injin Bang,Jun Yeong Ahn,Yong Ryoul Kim,Se Kyu Oh,Hee Jung Choi,Jong-Seo Kim,Inkyung Jung,Ho Lee,Yuki Okada,Masahito Ikawa,Masahito Ikawa,Sung Hee Baek +19 more
TL;DR: These findings identify PHF7 as a critical factor for sperm chromatin condensation and contribute to mechanistic understanding of fundamental phenomenon of histone-to-protamine exchange and potential for drug development for the male reproduction system.
Journal ArticleDOI
Single-cell transcriptome analyses reveal distinct gene expression signatures of severe COVID-19 in the presence of clonal hematopoiesis
Baekgyu Choi,Chang Kyung Kang,Seongwan Park,Dohoon Lee,Andrew J. Lee,Yu-Chun Ko,Suk-Jo Kang,Kyuho Kang,Sun Kim,Youngil Koh,In Mok Jung +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper , a single-cell transcriptome landscape of severe COVID-19 according to the presence of CHIP using peripheral blood mononuclear cells was generated, showing that patients with CHIP exhibited a potent IFN-γ response in exacerbating inflammation, particularly in classical monocytes, compared to patients without CHIP.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characterization of altered molecular mechanisms in Parkinson’s disease through cell type–resolved multiomics analyses
Andrew J. Lee,Changyoun Kim,Seongwan Park,Kyoungho Jun,Jung Hye Eom,Seung-Jae Lee,Sunwoo Chung,Robert A. Rissman,Jongkyeong Chung,Eliezer Masliah,In Mok Jung +10 more
TL;DR: The establishment of high-resolution three-dimensional chromatin contact maps identifies 656 target genes of dysregulated cREs and genetic risk loci, including both novel candidates and known PD risk genes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Persistence of Fear Memory Depends on a Delayed Elevation of BAF53b and FGF1 Expression in the Lateral Amygdala.
TL;DR: The crucial role of BAF53b and FGF1 in persistent retention of fear memory is demonstrated, giving insights into how fear memory persistently stored through consolidation processes and suggest candidate target for treating mental disorders related to traumatic memory.
