Journal ArticleDOI
A role for small RNAs in DNA double-strand break repair.
Wei Wei,Zhaoqing Ba,Min Gao,Yang Wu,Yanting Ma,Simon Amiard,Charles I. White,Jannie M. Rendtlew Danielsen,Jannie M. Rendtlew Danielsen,Yun-Gui Yang,Yijun Qi +10 more
TL;DR: It is proposed that diRNAs may function as guide molecules directing chromatin modifications or the recruitment of protein complexes to DSB sites to facilitate repair.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Apollo 5' exonuclease functions together with TRF2 to protect telomeres from DNA repair.
Christelle Lenain,Serge Bauwens,Simon Amiard,Michele Brunori,Marie-Josèphe Giraud-Panis,Marie-Josèphe Giraud-Panis,Eric Gilson +6 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that Apollo is a novel component of the human telomeric complex and works together with TRF2 to protect chromosome termini from being recognized and processed as DNA damage.
Journal ArticleDOI
A topological mechanism for TRF2-enhanced strand invasion
Simon Amiard,Michel Doudeau,Sébastien Pinte,Anaïs Poulet,Christelle Lenain,Cendrine Faivre-Moskalenko,Dimitar Angelov,Nele Hug,Alessandro Vindigni,Philippe Bouvet,Jacques Paoletti,Eric Gilson,Marie-Josèphe Giraud-Panis +12 more
TL;DR: It is proposed that TRF2 complexes, by constraining DNA around themselves in a right-handed conformation, can induce untwisting of the neighboring DNA, thereby favoring strand invasion.
Journal ArticleDOI
TRF2 and Apollo Cooperate with Topoisomerase 2α to Protect Human Telomeres from Replicative Damage
Jing Ye,Christelle Lenain,Serge Bauwens,Angela Maria Rizzo,Adelaïde Saint-Léger,Adelaïde Saint-Léger,Anaïs Poulet,Delphine Benarroch,Delphine Benarroch,Frédérique Magdinier,Julia Morere,Simon Amiard,Els Verhoeyen,Sébastien Britton,Patrick Calsou,Bernard Salles,Anna Bizard,Marc Nadal,Erica Salvati,Laure Sabatier,Yunlin Wu,Annamaria Biroccio,Arturo Londoño-Vallejo,Marie Josèphe Giraud-Panis,Marie Josèphe Giraud-Panis,Eric Gilson,Eric Gilson +26 more
TL;DR: This work reports that TRF2 regulates the 5' exonuclease activity of its binding partner, Apollo, a member of the metallo-beta-lactamase family that is required for telomere integrity during S phase and suggests that cellular senescence may be caused by topological problems that occur during the replication of the inner portion of telomeres.
Journal ArticleDOI
TRF2 promotes, remodels and protects telomeric Holliday junctions.
Anaïs Poulet,Rémi Buisson,Cendrine Faivre-Moskalenko,Melanie Koelblen,Simon Amiard,Fabien Montel,Santiago Cuesta-Lopez,Olivier Bornet,Françoise Guerlesquin,Thomas Godet,Julien Moukhtar,Françoise Argoul,Anne-Cécile Déclais,David M.J. Lilley,Stephen C.Y. Ip,Stephen C. West,Eric Gilson,Marie-Josèphe Giraud-Panis +17 more
TL;DR: It is proposed that TRF2 contributes to t‐loop stabilisation by stimulating HJ formation and by preventing resolvase cleavage, and this findings provide novel insights into the interplay between telomere protection and homologous recombination.
