Associations between neurodevelopmental genes, neuroanatomy, and ultra high risk symptoms of psychosis in 22q11.2 deletion syndrome.
Carlie A. Thompson,Jason Karelis,Frank A. Middleton,Karen L. Gentile,Ioana L. Coman,Petya D. Radoeva,Rashi I. Mehta,Wanda Fremont,Kevin M. Antshel,Stephen V. Faraone,Wendy R. Kates +10 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that RTN4R, a relatively under‐studied gene at the 22q11 locus, constitutes a susceptibility gene for psychosis in individuals with this syndrome through its alteration of the architecture of the brain.
Journal ArticleDOI
Smoking and the developing brain: Altered white matter microstructure in attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and healthy controls
Hanneke van Ewijk,Annabeth P. Groenman,Annabeth P. Groenman,Marcel P. Zwiers,Dirk J. Heslenfeld,Stephen V. Faraone,Catharina A. Hartman,Marjolein Luman,Corina U. Greven,Corina U. Greven,Pieter J. Hoekstra,Barbara Franke,Jan K. Buitelaar,Jaap Oosterlaan +13 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of smoking on WM microstructure in adolescents and young adults with and without ADHD was investigated in an extensively phenotyped sample of nonsmokers (n = 95, 50.5% ADHD), irregular smokers and regular smokers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Suggestive Linkage of the Child Behavior Checklist Juvenile Bipolar Disorder Phenotype to 1p21, 6p21, and 8q21.
Alysa E. Doyle,Joseph Biederman,Manuel A. R. Ferreira,Patricia Wong,Jordan W. Smoller,Stephen V. Faraone +5 more
TL;DR: Findings raise the possibility that genes in these regions influence variation on the CBCL-JBD scale and the emotional and behavioral dysregulation associated with severe psychopathology.
Journal Article
Clinical utility of the cold pressor test: evaluation of pain patients, treatment of opioid-induced hyperalgesia and fibromyalgia with low dose naltrexone.
TL;DR: CPT is shown to be an objective test of pain tolerance with clinical applications: evaluation of OIH, evaluation of fibromyalgia, reversal of OiH, protracted withdrawal with LDN, and amelioration of Fibromyalgia withLDN.
Journal ArticleDOI
