Staging of Alzheimer's disease: past, present, and future perspectives.
Joseph Therriault,Eduardo R. Zimmer,Andrea Lessa Benedet,Tharick A. Pascoal,Serge Gauthier,Pedro Rosa-Neto +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors discuss the use of clinical and biomarker information in past, present, and future staging of AD. They highlight potential applications of PET, CSF, and plasma biomarkers for staging AD severity in vivo.
Journal ArticleDOI
Amyloid-beta modulates the association between neurofilament light chain and brain atrophy in Alzheimer's disease
Min Su Kang,Arturo Aliaga,Monica Shin,Sulantha Mathotaarachchi,Andrea Lessa Benedet,Tharick A. Pascoal,Joseph Therriault,Mira Chamoun,Melissa Savard,Gabriel A. Devenyi,Axel Mathieu,M. Mallar Chakravarty,Åsa Sandelius,Kaj Blennow,Kaj Blennow,Henrik Zetterberg,Jean-Paul Soucy,A. Claudio Cuello,Gassan Massarweh,Serge Gauthier,Pedro Rosa-Neto,Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative +21 more
TL;DR: Reduced grey matter density and elevated NFL concentrations in CSF and plasma are associated in AD-vulnerable regions in the presence of amyloid positivity in the AD clinical spectrum and amyloids Tg rat model, which further support the NFL as a neuronal injury biomarker in the research framework of AD biomarker classification and for the evaluation of therapeutic efficacy in clinical trials.
Journal ArticleDOI
Validation of the LUMIPULSE automated immunoassay for the measurement of core AD biomarkers in cerebrospinal fluid.
Johan Gobom,Johan Gobom,Lucilla Parnetti,Pedro Rosa-Neto,Pedro Rosa-Neto,Martin Vyhnalek,Serge Gauthier,Serge Gauthier,Samuela Cataldi,Ondrej Lerch,Jan Laczó,Katerina Cechova,Marcus Clarin,Marcus Clarin,Andrea I Benet,Andrea I Benet,Tharick A. Pascoal,Neserine Rahmouni,Manu Vandijck,Else Huyck,Nathalie Le Bastard,Jenna Stevenson,Mira Chamoun,Daniel Alcolea,Alberto Lleó,Ulf Andreasson,Ulf Andreasson,Marcel M. Verbeek,Giovanni Bellomo,Roberta Rinaldi,Nicholas J. Ashton,Henrik Zetterberg,Katerina Sheardova,Katerina Sheardova,Jakub Hort,Jakub Hort,Kaj Blennow,Kaj Blennow +37 more
TL;DR: The LUMIPULSE G (Fujirebio) as discussed by the authors is a fully automated immunoassay instrument for measurement of the four core AD CSF biomarkers and determined cutpoints for AD diagnosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Regional Amyloid-β Load and White Matter Abnormalities Contribute to Hypometabolism in Alzheimer’s Dementia
Lucas Porcello Schilling,Lucas Porcello Schilling,Lucas Porcello Schilling,Tharick A. Pascoal,Tharick A. Pascoal,Eduardo R. Zimmer,Sulantha Mathotaarachchi,Monica Shin,Carlos Roberto de Mello Rieder,Serge Gauthier,Serge Gauthier,André Palmini,Pedro Rosa-Neto,Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative +13 more
TL;DR: The interaction between, rather than the independent effects of, high levels of amyloid-β deposition and WM integrity disruption determined limbic hypometabolism in patients with AD, highlighting a more integrative model for AD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Posterior Reversible Encephalopathy Syndrome Associated with FOLFOX Chemotherapy
Luiz Carlos Porcello Marrone,Bianca Fontana Marrone,Tharick A. Pascoal,Lucas Porcello Schilling,Ricardo Bernardi Soder,Sheila Schuch Ferreira,Giovani Gadonski,Jaderson Costa da Costa +7 more
TL;DR: A case of a 27-year-old woman that developed PRES after the use of FOLFOX 5 (oxaliplatin/5-Fluoracil/Leucovorin) chemotherapy for a colorectal cancer is reported.
