Van Tassell,Albert J. Vilella,Kelly P. Williams,James A. Yorke,Liqing Zhang,Hong-Bin Zhang,Xiaojun Zhang,Yang Zhang,Kent M. Reed +72 more
TL;DR: The combined application of next-generation sequencing platforms has provided an economical approach to unlocking the potential of the turkey genome.
Journal ArticleDOI
Host-interactive genes in Amerindian Helicobacter pylori diverge from their Old World homologs and mediate inflammatory responses.
Shrinivasrao P. Mane,Maria Gloria Dominguez-Bello,Martin J. Blaser,Bruno W. S. Sobral,Raquel Hontecillas,J. Skoneczka,Saroj Kant Mohapatra,Oswald Crasta,Clive Evans,Thero Modise,Shamira Shallom,Maulik Shukla,Christine Varon,Francis Mégraud,Ana Maldonado-Contreras,Kelly P. Williams,Josep Bassaganya-Riera +16 more
TL;DR: The whole genome of the cag-positive strain V225d, cultured from a Venezuelan Piaroa Amerindian subject, is described and phylogenetic analysis of the host-interactive genes vacA and cagA shows substantial divergence of Amerindia from Old World forms and indicates new genotypes involving these loci.
Journal ArticleDOI
Complete Genome Sequence of Prepandemic Vibrio parahaemolyticus BB22OP
Roderick V. Jensen,Saylem M. DePasquale,Elizabeth A. Harbolick,Tian Hong,Alison L. Kernell,David H. Kruchko,Thero Modise,Cimarron E. Smith,Linda L. McCarter,Ann M. Stevens +9 more
TL;DR: The complete, annotated genome sequence of the prepandemic V. parahaemolyticus strain BB22OP is reported and some initial comparisons to the complete genome sequence for pandemic strain RIMD2210633 are made.
Journal ArticleDOI
OpaR controls a network of downstream transcription factors in Vibrio parahaemolyticus BB22OP.
Alison Kernell Burke,Leah Guthrie,Thero Modise,Guy Cormier,Roderick V. Jensen,Linda L. McCarter,Ann M. Stevens +6 more
TL;DR: Identification of the direct and indirect targets of OpaR, including small RNAs, will enable the construction of a network map of regulatory interactions important for the switch between the nonpathogenic and pathogenic states.
Journal ArticleDOI
Complete genome sequence of Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium VNP20009, a strain engineered for tumor targeting.
TL;DR: The complete genome of VNP20009, a mutagenized and genetically modified derivative of Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium 14028S, is reported, consisting of one chromosome and one virulence plasmid.
