Interhemispheric Correlation of Late Pleistocene Glacial Events

TL;DR: The last termination began suddenly and simultaneously in both polar hemispheres before the resumption of the modern mode of deep-water production in the Nordic Seas and interhemispheric coupling implies a global atmospheric signal rather than regional climatic changes caused by North Atlantic thermohaline switches or Laurentide ice surges.
Journal ArticleDOI

Abrupt vegetation and climate changes during the last glacial maximum and last termination in the chilean lake district: a case study from canal de la puntilla (41¡s)

TL;DR: In this article, multiple overlapping and replicate pollen stratigraphies from Canal de la Puntilla (40°57'09S, 72°54'18W, 120 m elevation) reveal that a Nothofagus dombeyi-type parkland occupied the Valle Central of the Chilean Lake District during the portion of the Last Glacial Maximum between 20,200 and about 14,600 14 C yr BP.
Journal ArticleDOI

An updated radiocarbon-based ice margin chronology for the last deglaciation of the North American Ice Sheet Complex

April S. Dalton, +75 more
TL;DR: The most up-to-date and authoritative margin chronology for the entire ice sheet complex is featured in two publications (Geological Survey of Canada Open File 1574 [Dyke et al., 2003] and as mentioned in this paper ).
