TL;DR: (R)-4-Menthenone as discussed by the authors exhibits lower reactivity in 1,4-conjugate addition of organometallic reagents, is inert in Michael reactions and pyrazoline formation evidently due both to the distorted polarization in the enone system and to steric hindrances from the α-isopropyl group in the cyclohexene ring.

Oxidation of olefins with alkanesulfoperacids
TL;DR: In this article, a linear correlation was established between log k 2 and the inductive constants of the substituents on the oxygen atom in the peracid, and the dependence of the weight constant of the reaction of monomer RSO4H with substituted acyclic olefins on the structure of the latter was described by the Taft equation.
