EFFECTIVE SYNTHESIS OF 2,3-seco-2,3-DICARBOXYPLATANIC ACID

TL;DR: An effective method for preparing triterpene 2,3-seco-2,3diacids by ozonolysis of 2-exomethylene-substituted derivatives of betulonic acid and 28-oxoallobetulone was proposed in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Heterocyclic analogs of combretastatin A-4

TL;DR: In this article, a novel route for the synthesis of heterocyclic analogs of the naturally occurring combretastatin A-4 based on the reaction of α-acetylenic ketones with polyfunctional nucleophiles (hydroxylamine, hydrazine, guanidine) was proposed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of 5-Aryl-1,4-naphthoquinone and 1-Aryl-9,10-anthraquinone Derivatives by Cycloaddition of 1-(Dimethoxyphenyl)-3-trimethylsiloxy-1,3-butadienes to 1,4-Benzoquinones and 1,4-Naphthoquinones

TL;DR: The Diels-Alder reaction of new 1-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)- or 1-(2, 4-dimethylsiloxy-1,3-butadienes with 2,5- and 2,6-dibromo-, and 2-bromo-6-methyl-1 4-benzoquinones regioselectively yields substituted 7-hydroxy-5-(dimethyl-1.4)-naphthoquinones as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Diels-alder reactions with cyclic sulfones: VIII. Organic catalysis in the synthesis of spiro[1-benzothiophene-4,5′-pyrimidine]-2′,4′,6′-trione 1,1-dioxides and 2′-thioxospiro[1-benzothiophene-4,5′-pyrimidine]-4′,6′-dione 1,1-dioxides

TL;DR: In the presence of chiral amines or amino acids with high regio-and stereoselectivity, the authors showed that 5-isopropenyl-2,3-dihydrothiophene 1,1-dioxide with 5-(2-methoxybenzylidene)-2-thioxopyrimidine-4,6-dione (generated in situ from 2methoxbenzaldehyde and thiobarbituric acid) gave the corresponding 2thioxospiro[1-benzothiophene
