Sarcoma classification by DNA methylation profiling

Christian Koelsche, +139 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a machine learning classifier algorithm based on array-generated DNA methylation data was used for the classification of soft tissue and bone sarcoma. But the performance was validated in a cohort of 428 sarcomatous tumours, of which 322 cases were classified by the classifier.
Journal ArticleDOI

Anaplastic Lymphoma Kinase Aberrations in Rhabdomyosarcoma: Clinical and Prognostic Implications

TL;DR: Because ALK aberrations on genomic and protein levels are frequently found in RMSs, in particular ARMS, and are associated with disease progression and outcome in ERMS, ALK may play a role in tumor biology and may provide a potential therapeutic target for these tumors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Primary intracranial spindle cell sarcoma with rhabdomyosarcoma-like features share a highly distinct methylation profile and DICER1 mutations.

TL;DR: The identified combination of genetic events indicates a relationship between the intracranial tumors analyzed and DICER1 predisposition syndrome-associated sarcomas such as embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma or the recently described group of anaplastic sarcoma of the kidney.
