Evaluation of novel fungal cellulase preparations for ability to hydrolyze softwood substrates – evidence for the role of accessory enzymes

TL;DR: The ability of a cellulase preparation to hydrolyze pretreated softwood showed little correlation with its activity on filter paper, carboxymethylcellulose and Avicel; however, there was a significant correlation with the level of endogenous β-glucosidase and xylanase activity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of Cellulase Preparations for Hydrolysis of Hardwood Substrates

TL;DR: Investigation of cellulase preparations for their ability to hydrolyze the cellulose fraction of hardwoods pretreated by organosolv extraction, as well as model cellulosic substrates such as filter paper found no significant correlation among hydrolytic performance on pretreated hardwood, based on glucose release, and filter paper activity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Observation of very high energy cosmic-ray families in emulsion chambers at high mountain altitudes (I)

TL;DR: In this article, the characteristics of cosmic-ray hadronic interactions in the 1015 − 1017 eV range were studied by observing a total of 429 families of visible energy greater than 100 TeV found in emulsion chamber experiments at high mountain altitudes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nuclear-interactions of super high-energy cosmic-rays observed in mountain emulsion chambers

S. G. Bayburina, +116 more
- 09 Nov 1981 -
TL;DR: In this article, a summary of three mountain experiments with large-scale emulsion chambers, at Pamir, Mt. Fuji and Chacaltaya, is presented, concerning the characteristics of nuclear interactions the energy region 1014 −1016 eV.
Journal ArticleDOI

Observation of a high-energy cosmic-ray family caused by a Centauro-type nuclear interaction in the joint emulsion chamber experiment at the Pamirs

A. S. Borisov, +90 more
- 21 May 1987 -
TL;DR: An exotic cosmic-ray family event was observed in the large emulsion chamber exposed by the joint at the Pamirs (4360 m above sea level) as mentioned in this paper, which is composed of 120 γ -ray-induced showers and 37 hadron induced showers with individual visible energy exceeding 1 TeV.
