Journal ArticleDOI
The evolution of north-east Atlantic gadfly petrels using statistical phylogeography.
Benoit Gangloff,Francis Zino,Hadoram Shirihai,Jacob González-Solís,Arnaud Couloux,Eric Pasquet,Vincent Bretagnolle +6 more
TL;DR: It appears that the three petrel populations breeding on Madeira and Cape Verde diverged in the late Pleistocene in the last 150 000 years, that is 10 times more recently than previous estimates based solely on one mtDNA gene.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sex-Related Differences in the Trade-Off between Foraging and Vigilance in a Granivorous Forager
TL;DR: This work examined the combined effects of different scenarios of predation risk and food density on time allocation between foraging and anti-predator vigilance in a granivorous species and indicated that time devoted to different activities varied as a function of both seed density and cover height.
Journal ArticleDOI
Description of long-term monitoring of farmland biodiversity in a LTSER.
Vincent Bretagnolle,Vincent Bretagnolle,Elsa Berthet,Nicolas Gross,Nicolas Gross,Bertrand Gauffre,Bertrand Gauffre,Christine Plumejeaud,Sylvie Houte,Isabelle Badenhausser,Isabelle Badenhausser,Karine Monceau,Fabrice Allier,Pascal Monestiez,Pascal Monestiez,Sabrina Gaba,Sabrina Gaba +16 more
TL;DR: The protocols applied in a long-term research platform, the LTSER Zone Atelier “Plaine & Val de Sèvre” are described, which has evolved through time for arable weeds, grassland plants, ground beetles, spiders, grasshoppers, wild bees, hoverflies, butterflies, small mammals, and farmland birds.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Mediterranean breeding colony of Cory's Shearwater Calonectris diomedea in which individuals show behavioural and biometric characters of the Atlantic subspecies
Journal ArticleDOI
Activity patterns, habitat use, foraging behaviour and food selection of the Ouvéa Parakeet (Eunymphicus cornutus uvaeensis)
TL;DR: Observations on behaviour suggest that food is not a factor limiting the population size of the parakeets, and the possibility of nest-site limitation is assessed in the context of the conservation of this endangered parakeet.
