Spatio-temporal Data Mining for Climate Data: Advances, Challenges, and Opportunities

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors refer to spatio-temporal data mining (STDM) as a collection of methods that mine the data's spatiotemporal context to increase an algorithm's accuracy, scalability, or interpretability.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Scalability of Parallel Algorithms for Matrix Multiplication

TL;DR: This paper analyzes the performance and scalability of a number of parallel formulations of the matrix multiplication algorithm and predicts the conditions under which each formulation is better than the others.
Journal ArticleDOI

Performance properties of large scale parallel systems

TL;DR: The impact of parallel processing overheads and the degree of concurrency of a parallel algorithm on the optimal number of processors to be used when the criterion for optimality is minimization of the parallel execution time is studied.

Clustering in a High-Dimensional Space Using Hypergraph Models

TL;DR: The proposed method for clustering of data in a high dimensional space based on a hypergraph model performed much better than traditional schemes for high dimensional data sets in terms of quality of clusters and runtime and was able to filter out noise data from the clusters very effectively without compromising the quality of the clusters.
