Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical Impact of the Cell-of-Origin Classification and the MYC/BCL2 Dual Expresser Status in Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma Treated Within Prospective Clinical Trials of the German High-Grade Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma Study Group
Annette M. Staiger,Marita Ziepert,Heike Horn,David W. Scott,Thomas F.E. Barth,Heinz-Wolfram Bernd,Alfred C. Feller,W Klapper,Monika Szczepanowski,Michael Hummel,Harald Stein,Dido Lenze,Martin-Leo Hansmann,Sylvia Hartmann,Peter Möller,Sergio Cogliatti,Georg Lenz,Lorenz Trümper,Markus W. Löffler,Norbert Schmitz,Michael Pfreundschuh,Andreas Rosenwald,German Ott +22 more
TL;DR: COO profiling in two prospective randomized DLBCL trials failed to identify prognostic subgroups, whereas dual expression of MYC and BCL2 was predictive of poor survival.
Journal ArticleDOI
Modern concepts in the biology, diagnosis, differential diagnosis and treatment of primary central nervous system lymphoma
Martina Deckert,Andreas Engert,Wolfgang Brück,Andrés José Maria Ferreri,Jürgen Finke,Gerald Illerhaus,W Klapper,Agnieszka Korfel,Ralf Küppers,Mohammad Maarouf,Manuel Montesinos-Rongen,Werner Paulus,Uwe Schlegel,Hans Lassmann,Otmar D. Wiestler,Reiner Siebert,Lisa M. DeAngelis +16 more
TL;DR: This review combines the discussion of diagnosis, differential diagnosis and recent progress in studies addressing the molecular pathogenesis as well as therapeutic options in PCNSL.
Journal ArticleDOI
Gene expression profiling of isolated tumour cells from anaplastic large cell lymphomas: insights into its cellular origin, pathogenesis and relation to Hodgkin lymphoma
Susan Eckerle,Verena Brune,Verena Brune,Claudia Döring,Enrico Tiacci,V. Bohle,Christer Sundström,R. Kodet,Marco Paulli,Brunangelo Falini,W Klapper,A. B. Chaubert,Klaus Willenbrock,Dirk Metzler,Andreas Bräuninger,Andreas Bräuninger,Ralf Küppers,M. L. Hansmann +17 more
TL;DR: The analysis supports a derivation of ALCL from activated T cells, but the lymphoma cells acquired a gene expression pattern hampering an assignment to a CD4+, CD8+ or CD30+ T-cell origin.
Journal ArticleDOI
Different biological risk factors in young poor-prognosis and elderly patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma
Heike Horn,Marita Ziepert,Martin Wartenberg,Annette M. Staiger,Thomas F. E. Barth,H-W Bernd,A. C. Feller,W Klapper,Christiane Stuhlmann-Laeisz,Michael Hummel,Harald Stein,Dido Lenze,Stefan Hartmann,M. L. Hansmann,Peter Möller,Sergio Cogliatti,Michael Pfreundschuh,Lorenz Trümper,Markus Loeffler,Bertram Glass,N. Schmitz,German Ott,Andreas Rosenwald +22 more
TL;DR: Younger, poor-prognosis DLBCL patients display different biological risk factors compared with an elderly population, with BCL2 translocations emerging as a powerful negative prognostic marker.
Journal ArticleDOI
Microenvironmental interactions between endothelial and lymphoma cells: a role for the canonical WNT pathway in Hodgkin lymphoma
Franziska Linke,M Harenberg,Manuel Nietert,S Zaunig,F. von Bonin,A Arlt,Monika Szczepanowski,H. A. Weich,S Lutz,Christian Dullin,Pavlína Janovská,Michaela Krafčíková,Lukáš Trantírek,Petra Ovesná,W Klapper,Tim Beissbarth,Frauke Alves,Frauke Alves,Vítězslav Bryja,Vítězslav Bryja,Lorenz Trümper,Jörg Wilting,Dieter Kube +22 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that local canonical WNT signaling activates cHL cell chemotaxis toward ECs, adhesion to EC layers and cell invasion using not only the Wnt-inhibitor Dickkopf, tankyrases and casein kinase 1 inhibitors but also knockdown of the lymphocyte enhancer binding-factor 1 and β-catenin in cHL cells.
