Journal ArticleDOI
RNA m6A methylation regulates the ultraviolet-induced DNA damage response.
Yang Xiang,Benoit Laurent,Benoit Laurent,Chih-Hung Hsu,Chih-Hung Hsu,Sigrid Nachtergaele,Zhike Lu,Zhike Lu,Wanqiang Sheng,Wanqiang Sheng,Chuanyun Xu,Chuanyun Xu,Hao Chen,Hao Chen,Jian Ouyang,Siqing Wang,Siqing Wang,Siqing Wang,Dominic Ling,Dominic Ling,Pang-Hung Hsu,Lee Zou,Ashwini Jambhekar,Ashwini Jambhekar,Chuan He,Chuan He,Yang Shi,Yang Shi +27 more
TL;DR: It is reported that methylation at the 6 position of adenosine (m6A) in RNA is rapidly and transiently induced at DNA damage sites in response to ultraviolet irradiation, uncovering a novel function for RNA m6A modification in the ultraviolet-induced DNA damage response.
Journal ArticleDOI
LSD1 Ablation Stimulates Anti-tumor Immunity and Enables Checkpoint Blockade
Wanqiang Sheng,Wanqiang Sheng,Martin W. LaFleur,Thao H. Nguyen,Sujun Chen,Sujun Chen,Ankur Chakravarthy,Ankur Chakravarthy,Jake Conway,Ying Li,Hao Chen,Hao Chen,Henry Yang,Pang-Hung Hsu,Eliezer M. Van Allen,Gordon J. Freeman,Daniel D. De Carvalho,Daniel D. De Carvalho,Housheng Hansen He,Housheng Hansen He,Arlene H. Sharpe,Arlene H. Sharpe,Yang Shi,Yang Shi +23 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that ablation of the histone demethylase LSD1 in cancer cells increases repetitive element expression, including endogenous retroviral elements (ERVs), and decreases expression of RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC) components.
Journal ArticleDOI
PCIF1 Catalyzes m6Am mRNA Methylation to Regulate Gene Expression.
Erdem Sendinc,David Valle-Garcia,David Valle-Garcia,Abhinav Dhall,Abhinav Dhall,Hao Chen,Hao Chen,Telmo Henriques,José Navarrete-Perea,Wanqiang Sheng,Wanqiang Sheng,Steven P. Gygi,Karen Adelman,Yang Shi,Yang Shi +14 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that m6Am is an evolutionarily conserved mRNA modification mediated by the Phosphorylated CTD Interacting Factor 1 (PCIF1), which catalyzes m6A methylation on 2-O-methylated adenine located at the 5' ends of mRNAs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Corrigendum: RNA m 6 A methylation regulates the ultraviolet-induced DNA damage response.
Yang Xiang,Benoit Laurent,Chih-Hung Hsu,Sigrid Nachtergaele,Zhike Lu,Wanqiang Sheng,Chuanyun Xu,Hao Chen,Jian Ouyang,Siqing Wang,Dominic Ling,Pang-Hung Hsu,Lee Zou,Ashwini Jambhekar,Chuan He,Yang Shi +15 more
TL;DR: This corrects the article to show that the method used to derive the H2O2 “spatially aggregating force” is based on a two-step process, not a single step, like in the previous version of this paper.
