Scaling of the tokamak near the scrape-off layer H-mode power width and implications for ITER

TL;DR: In this paper, a multi-machine database for the Hmode scrape-off layer power fall-off length, λq in JET, DIII-D, ASDEX upgrade, C-Mod, NSTX and MAST has been assembled under the auspices of the International Tokamak Physics Activity Regression inside the database.
Journal ArticleDOI

Inter-ELM Power Decay Length for JET and ASDEX Upgrade: Measurement and Comparison with Heuristic Drift-Based Model

TL;DR: Experimental measurements of the SOL power decay length estimated from analysis of fully attached divertor heat load profiles from two tokamaks, JET and ASDEX Upgrade, show satisfactory agreement in both absolute magnitude and scaling.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fluctuations and transport in the TCV scrape-off layer

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the particle and radial flux density statistics in the scrape-off layer of TCV plasmas and direct comparison with two-dimensional interchange turbulence simulations at the outer midplane.
Journal ArticleDOI

Radial interchange motions of plasma filaments

TL;DR: In this article, the role of sheath dissipation was investigated in the radial convection of isolated filamentary structures in magnetized plasmas and it was shown that sheaths significantly reduced the radial velocity of isolated filaments.
