Switching characteristic of barium vanadate glasses doped with iron oxide
TL;DR: In this paper, the activation energy for switching was calculated and the value found to be lower than that estimated from dc conductivity measurements, which was explained on the basis of clusterisation of Fe 3+ ions and their interaction with VO 4 -units.
Journal ArticleDOI
Green Technology for Remediation of Water Polluted with Petroleum Crude Oil: Using of Eichhornia crassipes (Mart.) Solms Combined with Magnetic Nanoparticles Capped with Myrrh Resources of Saudi Arabia.
Ayman M. Atta,Nermen H. Mohamed,Ahmad K. Hegazy,Yasser M. Moustafa,Rodina R. Mohamed,Gehan Safwat,Ayman A. Diab +6 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that the water hyacinth can be used for remediation of water slightly polluted by crude petroleum oil and the presence of magnetite nanoparticles capped with natural products based on Myrrh improved the remediated of water highly polluted by petroleum oil.
Journal ArticleDOI
Glutamine up-regulates pancreatic sodium-dependent neutral aminoacid transporter-2 and mitigates islets apoptosis in diabetic rats.
Zekrayat J.H. Medras,Norhan M. El-Sayed,Sawsan A. Zaitone,Sawsan A. Zaitone,Eman A. Toraih,Manal M. Sami,Yasser M. Moustafa +6 more
TL;DR: Treatment with liraglutide and/or glutamine enhanced insulin production and hence glycemic control in diabetic male rats with favorable effects on apoptosis markers and may have utility in clinical settings.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Biosorption of Phenol from Petroleum Refinery Wastewater Using Spent Waste Biomass
TL;DR: In this paper, the potentiality of application of spent waste biomass (yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, rice straw, and sugarcane bagasse) from bioethanol production process as low-cost biosorbents for removal of phenol from petroleum refinery wastewater was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cardioprotective Mechanisms of Exenatide in Isoprenaline-induced Myocardial Infarction: Novel Effects on Myocardial α-Estrogen Receptor Expression and IGF-1/IGF-2 System.
TL;DR: It was showed that the GLP-1R agonist exenatide exerted cardioprotection associated with upregulation of ER&agr; and modulation of IGF-1/IGF-2 signaling in favor of antiapoptosis.
