Effect of levetiracetam versus gabapentin on peripheral neuropathy and sciatic degeneration in streptozotocin-diabetic mice: Influence on spinal microglia and astrocytes.

TL;DR: Levetiracetam produced antiallodynic and antihyperalgesic effect in diabetic mice with favorable effects on sciatic nerve and spinal cord that were accompanied by downregulation of the spinal expression of microglia and astrocytes, and may have promise in alleviating neuropathic pain in diabetic patients.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evening primrose oil and celecoxib inhibited pathological angiogenesis, inflammation, and oxidative stress in adjuvant-induced arthritis: novel role of angiopoietin-1

TL;DR: The joint use of GLA-rich natural oils, which possess anti-angiogenic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-oxidant activities, with traditional analgesics represents a promising strategy to restrain the progression of rheumatoid arthritis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antioxidant effect of garlic (Allium sativum) and black seeds (Nigella sativa) in healthy postmenopausal women

TL;DR: Investigation of the antioxidant effects of garlic extract and crude black seeds’ consumption on blood oxidant/antioxidant levels in healthy postmenopausal women found a beneficial effect on improved balance between blood oxidants and antioxidants.
Journal ArticleDOI

Elastic properties of bismuth borate glasses

TL;DR: In this paper, the elastic properties of the vitreous system Bi2O3-B2O 3 have been measured by ultrasonic pulse echo overlap technique at a frequency of 10 MHz and at room temperature.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of urea-modified MnFe 2 O 4 for aromatic micro-pollutants adsorption from wastewater: Mechanism and modeling

TL;DR: Amine-terminated MnFe2O4, using urea solution (UMF-MNPs) fabricated by a combined ultrasonic/microwave technique, was characterized and applied as a magnetic adsorbent to remove catechol, phenol, and benzene micro-pollutants from wastewater solutions as discussed by the authors.
