Long Noncoding RNA NEAT1-Dependent SFPQ Relocation from Promoter Region to Paraspeckle Mediates IL8 Expression upon Immune Stimuli
Katsutoshi Imamura,Naoto Imamachi,Gen Akizuki,Michiko Kumakura,Atsushi Kawaguchi,Kyosuke Nagata,Akihisa Kato,Yasushi Kawaguchi,Hiroki Sato,Misako Yoneda,Chieko Kai,Tetsushi Yada,Yutaka Suzuki,Toshimichi Yamada,Takeaki Ozawa,Kiyomi Kaneki,Tsuyoshi Inoue,Mika Kobayashi,Tatsuhiko Kodama,Youichiro Wada,Kazuhisa Sekimizu,Nobuyoshi Akimitsu +21 more
TL;DR: Nuclear enriched abundant transcript 1 (NEAT1), an essential lncRNA for the formation of nuclear body paraspeckles, is induced by influenza virus and herpes simplex virus infection as well as by Toll-like receptor3-p38 pathway-triggered poly I:C stimulation, resulting in excess formation of paraspeakles.
Journal ArticleDOI
Construction of an Excisable Bacterial Artificial Chromosome Containing a Full-Length Infectious Clone of Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1: Viruses Reconstituted from the Clone Exhibit Wild-Type Properties In Vitro and In Vivo
TL;DR: The infectious molecular clone pYEbac102 is in fact useful for mutagenesis of the HSV-1 genome by bacterial genetics, and a recombinant virus carrying amino acid substitutions in both copies of the α0 gene was generated.
Journal ArticleDOI
PILRα Is a Herpes Simplex Virus-1 Entry Coreceptor That Associates with Glycoprotein B
Takeshi Satoh,Jun Arii,Tadahiro Suenaga,Jing Wang,Amane Kogure,Junji Uehori,Noriko Arase,Ikuo Shiratori,Shinya Tanaka,Yasushi Kawaguchi,Patricia G. Spear,Lewis L. Lanier,Hisashi Arase +12 more
TL;DR: It is found that paired immunoglobulin-like type 2 receptor (PILR) alpha associates with gB, and cells transduced with PILRalpha become susceptible to HSV-1 infection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of Nafamostat as a Potent Inhibitor of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus S Protein-Mediated Membrane Fusion Using the Split-Protein-Based Cell-Cell Fusion Assay
Mizuki Yamamoto,Shutoku Matsuyama,Xiao Li,Makoto Takeda,Yasushi Kawaguchi,Jun-ichiro Inoue,Zene Matsuda,Zene Matsuda +7 more
TL;DR: A cell-based fusion assay for S in a TMPRSS2-dependent manner using cell lines expressing Renilla luciferase (RL)-based split reporter proteins has the potential to facilitate the discovery of new inhibitors of membrane fusion of MERS-CoV as well as other viruses that rely on the activity of TMPR SS2.
Journal ArticleDOI
Herpes simplex virus 1 alpha regulatory protein ICP0 interacts with and stabilizes the cell cycle regulator cyclin D3.
TL;DR: Results indicate that ICP0 interacts with, colocalizes with, and stabilizes the cyclin D3 cell cycle regulator and does not affect its interaction with the cycl in-dependent kinase.
