Journal ArticleDOI
The OPEP protein model: from single molecules, amyloid formation, crowding and hydrodynamics to DNA/RNA systems.
Fabio Sterpone,Simone Melchionna,Pierre Tufféry,Samuela Pasquali,Normand Mousseau,Tristan Cragnolini,Yassmine Chebaro,Jean-François St-Pierre,Maria Kalimeri,Alessandro Barducci,Yoann Laurin,Alex Tek,Marc Baaden,Phuong H. Nguyen,Philippe Derreumaux,Philippe Derreumaux +15 more
TL;DR: The current state of the OPEP coarse-grained protein model and the most exciting applications using advanced conformational sampling methods are reviewed and a perspective on the ongoing developments is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Surfactin-Like Lipopeptides From Bacillus spp.: Natural Biodiversity and Synthetic Biology for a Broader Application Range.
Ariane Théatre,Carolina Cano-Prieto,Marco Bartolini,Yoann Laurin,Magali Deleu,Joachim Niehren,Tarik Fida,Saïcha Gerbinet,Mohammad Alanjary,Marnix H. Medema,Angélique Léonard,Laurence Lins,Ana Arabolaza,Hugo Gramajo,Harald Gross,Philippe Jacques +15 more
TL;DR: The peptide moiety of the surfactin is synthesized using huge multienzymatic proteins called NonRibosomal Peptide Synthetases.
Journal ArticleDOI
Coarse-Grained HiRE-RNA Model for ab Initio RNA Folding beyond Simple Molecules, Including Noncanonical and Multiple Base Pairings.
TL;DR: HiRE-RNA is a coarse-grained model for RNA structure prediction and the dynamical study of RNA folding that shows that noncanonical and multiple base interactions are necessary to capture the full physical behavior of complex RNAs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Insights into the Relationships Between Herbicide Activities, Molecular Structure and Membrane Interaction of Cinnamon and Citronella Essential Oils Components.
Laurence Lins,Simon Dal Maso,Berenice Foncoux,Anouar Kamili,Yoann Laurin,Manon Genva,M. Haïssam Jijakli,Caroline De Clerck,Marie-Laure Fauconnier,Magali Deleu +9 more
TL;DR: It is shown that cinnamon and Java citronella essential oils and some of their main components could act as efficient herbicides when spread on A. thaliana leaves and suggested that different mechanisms of action for the two types of molecules can occur.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mobility and Core-Protein Binding Patterns of Disordered C-Terminal Tails in β-Tubulin Isotypes.
TL;DR: The conformational variability of the two β-tails is investigated using long time-scale classical molecular dynamics simulations that revealed similar features, notably the unexpected presence of common anchoring regions on the surface of the tuulin dimer, but also distinctive mobility or interaction patterns, some of which could be related to the tail lengths and charge distributions.
