Genome-Wide Mutational Signatures of Aristolochic Acid and Its Application as a Screening Tool
Song Ling Poon,Song Ling Poon,See Tong Pang,John R. McPherson,Willie Yu,Willie Yu,Kie Kyon Huang,Peiyong Guan,Wen-Hui Weng,Ee Yan Siew,Ee Yan Siew,Yujing Liu,Hong Lee Heng,Hong Lee Heng,Soo Ching Chong,Soo Ching Chong,Anna Gan,Anna Gan,Su Ting Tay,Weng Khong Lim,Weng Khong Lim,Ioana Cutcutache,Dachuan Huang,Dachuan Huang,Lian Dee Ler,Lian Dee Ler,Maarja-Liisa Nairismagi,Maarja-Liisa Nairismagi,Ming Hui Lee,Ying Hsu Chang,Kai Jie Yu,Waraporn Chan-on,Waraporn Chan-on,Bin Kui Li,Yunfei Yuan,Chao Nan Qian,Kwai Fong Ng,Ching Fang Wu,Cheng Lung Hsu,Ralph M. Bunte,Michael R. Stratton,P. Andrew Futreal,Wing-Kin Sung,Wing-Kin Sung,Cheng-Keng Chuang,Choon Kiat Ong,Choon Kiat Ong,Steven G. Rozen,Steven G. Rozen,Patrick Tan,Bin Tean Teh,Bin Tean Teh +51 more
TL;DR: A “molecular signature” of AA-induced DNA damage is presented, which helps to explain the mutagenic effects of AA and may also be useful as a way to detect unsuspected AA exposure as a cause of cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
ADAR-Mediated RNA Editing Predicts Progression and Prognosis of Gastric Cancer
Tim Chan,Aditi Qamra,Aditi Qamra,Kar Tong Tan,Jing Guo,Henry Yang,Lihua Qi,Jaymie Siqi Lin,Vanessa Hui En Ng,Yangyang Song,HuiQi Hong,Su Ting Tay,Yujing Liu,Yujing Liu,Jeeyun Lee,Sun Yong Rha,Feng Zhu,Jimmy Bok Yan So,Bin Tean Teh,Khay Guan Yeoh,Khay Guan Yeoh,Steve Rozen,Daniel G. Tenen,Daniel G. Tenen,Patrick Tan,Leilei Chen +25 more
TL;DR: A major role for RNA editing in GC disease and progression is highlighted, an observation potentially missed by previous next-generation sequencing analyses of GC focused on DNA alterations alone.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genetic and Structural Variation in the Gastric Cancer Kinome Revealed Through Targeted Deep Sequencing
Zhi Jiang Zang,Choon Kiat Ong,Ioana Cutcutache,Willie Yu,Shen Li Zhang,Dachuan Huang,Lian Dee Ler,Karl Dykema,Anna Gan,Jiong Tao,Siyu Lim,Yujing Liu,Yujing Liu,P. Andrew Futreal,Heike Grabsch,Kyle A. Furge,Liang Kee Goh,Steve Rozen,Bin Tean Teh,Patrick Tan,Patrick Tan +20 more
TL;DR: Targeted, paired-end deep sequencing approaches can deliver unprecedented multilevel characterization of a medically and pharmacologically relevant gene family and the catalog of kinome genetic variants assembled here may broaden knowledge on kinases and provide useful information on genetic alterations in GC.
Journal ArticleDOI
Host Cell Transcriptome Profile during Wild-Type and Attenuated Dengue Virus Infection
TL;DR: The data indicate that there is an extensive amount of previously uncharacterized TSS and post-transcriptional modifications to host RNA over a wide range of pathways and host functions in response to DENV infection, and it is shown here that the human transcriptome response to an infection by wild-type DENV or its attenuated derivative differs significantly.
Journal ArticleDOI
New insights into natural products that target the gut microbiota: Effects on the prevention and treatment of colorectal cancer
Lu Lu,Jiahuan Dong,Yujing Liu,Y W Qian,Guan-ping Zhang,Wenjun Zhou,Ai-Guang Zhao,Guang Ji,Han-Chen Xu +8 more
TL;DR: The regulation of gut microbiota by natural products may serve as a potential means of treatment and prevention of CRC and the mechanism by which natural products reduce tumorigenesis and improve therapeutic response is summarized.
