Thickness dependence of exchange coupling in (111)-oriented perovskite oxide superlattices

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of sublayer thickness on the magnetic structure and exchange coupling at (111)-oriented perovskite oxide interfaces was investigated, and it was shown that the antiferromagnetic (AF) properties of the LSFO sublayers are preserved with an out-of-plane canting of the AF spin axis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of thermal annealing on the band alignment of lanthanum aluminate on silicon investigated by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigate the changes in the band offsets of lanthanum aluminate on silicon after postdeposition annealing at 600 and 800°C by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and conclude that the band offset changes originate mainly from an interfacial effect.
Journal ArticleDOI

Atomically flat interface between a single-terminated LaAlO3 substrate and SrTiO3 thin film is insulating

TL;DR: In this paper, the surface termination of (100)-oriented LaAlO3 (LAO) single crystals was examined by atomic force microscopy and optimized to produce a single-terminated atomically flat surface by annealing.
Journal ArticleDOI

Parallel charge sheets of electron liquid and gas in La0.5Sr0.5TiO3/SrTiO3 heterostructures.

TL;DR: O/STO heterostructures point to new functionalities, in addition to magnetism and superconductivity in STO-based systems, which could be exploited in a multifunctional context.
