TL;DR: The random textured SiNCs array showed very promising broadband antireflective properties through the entire visible wavelength range at different incident angles up to ±60° and could become self-cleaning due to the high contact angle.
Abstract: Low-cost, wideband, and wide-angle antireflective layers are of prime importance to photovoltaic and other optoelectronic applications. We report a novel fabrication methodology of random textured silicon nanocones (SiNCs) array through metal-assisted chemical etching combined with oxidation. The optical properties of the fabricated structure are studied theoretically and experimentally. The random textured SiNCs array showed very promising broadband antireflective properties through the entire visible wavelength range at different incident angles up to ±60°. In addition, the nanostructures inherently could become self-cleaning due to the high contact angle. This random cheap textured SiNCs array increases the absorption efficiency of photodetectors and reduces its cost.

TL;DR: This work tackles Arabic diacritics restoration under a deep learning framework that includes the Confused Sub-set Resolution (CSR) method to improve the classification accuracy, in addition to an Arabic Part-of-Speech (PoS) tagging framework using deep neural nets.
Abstract: The Arabic language belongs to a group of languages that require diacritization over their characters. Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) transcripts omit the diacritics, which are essential for many machine learning tasks like Text-To-Speech (TTS) systems. In this work Arabic diacritics restoration is tackled under a deep learning framework that includes the Confused Sub-set Resolution (CSR) method to improve the classification accuracy, in addition to an Arabic Part-of-Speech (PoS) tagging framework using deep neural nets. Special focus is given to syntactic diacritization, which still suffers low accuracy as indicated in prior works. Evaluation is done versus state-of-the-art systems reported in literature, with quite challenging datasets collected from different domains. Standard datasets like the LDC Arabic Tree Bank are used in addition to custom ones we have made available online to allow other researchers to replicate these results. Results show significant improvement of the proposed techniques over other approaches, reducing the syntactic classification error to 9.9% and morphological classification error to 3% compared to 12.7% and 3.8% of the best reported results in literature, improving the error by 22% over the best reported systems.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of some physical parameters on the dispersive properties of 1D phononic crystal (PnC) have been studied and the reflection coefficients were calculated based on the transfer matrix method.
Abstract: In this work, we have introduced a comprehensive study concerning with the effects of some physical parameters on the dispersive properties of 1D phononic crystal (PnC). We have treated the propagation of elastic (in-plane) waves incident normally on 1D PnC. Based on the transfer matrix method, the reflection coefficients are calculated and plotted for the plane waves. We have studied many physical parameters effects on the properties of PnCs such as type of surrounding material, type of composites materials, temperature and propagation of waves in defect structures. Also the phenomenon of local resonance was discussed in this survey. These results can be useful in many applications such as sound suppressions and temperature sensor materials.

TL;DR: Ethernet at gigabit speed is tested as a network for real-time control functions and non-real-time entertainment functions in car industry, and the end-to-end delays were below the maximum round-trip delays required by the system.
Abstract: The use of networks for communication between electronic control units has increased in car industry over the last two decades. Several types of networks were developed for this purpose. In this study, Ethernet at gigabit speed is tested as a network for such system. The use of Ethernet helps integrating real-time control functions and non-real-time entertainment functions. Two main scenarios were simulated using OPNET. The fist one simulates pure control networks on board of a moving vehicle. The second scenario is the same as the first one with an added video load to simulate on-board entertainment. Both simulations were successful, as the end-to-end delays were below the maximum round-trip delays required by the system.
