TL;DR: In this paper, a network device includes a database that includes a materialized table and a non-materialized table, and a standing query instance that generates an output that is stored in the nonmaterialised table.
Abstract: A network device includes a database that includes a materialized table and a non-materialized table. The network device also includes a standing query instance that generates an output that is stored in the non-materialized table. The database obtains a request that specifies the output, and provides the output in response to the request.

TL;DR: In this article, a history-based connection-server affinity on a network load balancer is proposed, where the service is associated with a plurality of servers, and the packet is part of a network connection between a client device and one of the servers.
Abstract: Techniques for implementing history-based connection-server affinity on a network load balancer are provided. In one set of embodiments, the network load balancer can receive a network packet destined for a service, where the service is associated with a plurality of servers, and where the packet is part of a network connection between a client device and one of the plurality of servers. The network load balancer can further compute, using a portion of the packet, a bucket identifier of a bucket for the network connection, identify a first server in the plurality of servers that is currently mapped to the bucket identifier in a hash table, and send the packet to the first server. If the network load balancer receives the packet back from the first server, the network load balancer can determine, based on local history information, a second server that was previously mapped to the bucket identifier in the hash table and send the packet to that second server.

TL;DR: In this article, a network device is provided, which includes a housing and a set of switch cards, mounted within the housing, which are oriented parallel to each other and oriented orthogonally to the set of switches.
Abstract: In some implementations, a network device is provided. The network device includes a housing and a set of switch cards, mounted within the housing. The set of switch cards includes a first set of connectors. The network device also includes a set of line cards having a second set of connectors. The set of line cards are oriented parallel to each other and oriented orthogonally to the set of switch cards. The second set of connectors is coupled to the first set of connectors to couple the set of switch cards to the set of line cards. The network device further includes a first set of power supplies disposed along a left side of the housing and a second set of power supplies disposed along a right side of the housing.

TL;DR: In this article, an electromagnetic interference absorber for an integrated circuit is described, which includes a geometric ring of electromagnetic energy absorbing material, dimensioned to fit over a ball grid array (BGA) integrated circuit package assembled to a substrate.
Abstract: An electromagnetic interference absorber for an integrated circuit is provided. The absorber includes a geometric ring of electromagnetic energy absorbing material, dimensioned to fit over a ball grid array (BGA) integrated circuit package assembled to a substrate. The geometric ring has at least one projection arranged to fit into a gap between the substrate and a body of the BGA integrated circuit package so as to retain the geometric ring to the BGA integrated circuit package. Methods to contain electromagnetic interference and to manufacture an electromagnetic interference absorber are also provided.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method and apparatus of a device that broadcasts data to multiple hardware forwarding engines is described, where each of the plurality of hardware forwarding corresponds to one or more co-processors.
Abstract: A method and apparatus of a device that broadcasts data to multiple hardware forwarding engines is described. In an exemplary embodiment, a central processing unit of the device receives the data to broadcast to the plurality of hardware forwarding engines. The device further writes the data to a broadcast log. In addition, the device transmits a signal to one or more co-processors that the data is available to be read, wherein each of the plurality of hardware forwarding corresponds to one of the one or more co-processors. Each of these co-processors reads the data in the broadcast log by receiving the signal that the data is ready to be read from the broadcast log. In addition, each co-processor determines a broadcast log entry for the data for that co-processor. Each co-processor further reads the data from the broadcast log entry via a direct memory access in memory that stores the broadcast log and the plurality of hardware forwarding engines use the data to process network traffic.
