TL;DR: The combination of lower prevalence of T2D and lower SES in Chocó may seem surprising, but low SES has also been documented to be a protective factor in rural populations in less developed countries, and this appears to be the case when comparing Choco to Antioquia.
Abstract: Differences in genetic ancestry and socioeconomic status (SES) among Latin American populations have been linked to health disparities for a number of complex diseases, such as diabetes. We used a population genomic approach to investigate the role that genetic ancestry and socioeconomic status (SES) play in the epidemiology of type 2 diabetes (T2D) for two Colombian populations: Choco (Afro-Latino) and Antioquia (Mestizo). Choco has significantly higher predicted genetic risk for T2D compared to Antioquia, and the elevated predicted risk for T2D in Choco is correlated with higher African ancestry. Despite its elevated predicted genetic risk, the population of Choco has a three-times lower observed T2D prevalence than Antioquia, indicating that environmental factors better explain differences in T2D outcomes for Colombia. Choco has substantially lower SES than Antioquia, suggesting that low SES in Choco serves as a protective factor against T2D. The combination of lower prevalence of T2D and lower SES in Choco may seem surprising given the protective nature of elevated SES in many populations in developed countries. However, low SES has also been documented to be a protective factor in rural populations in less developed countries, and this appears to be the case when comparing Choco to Antioquia.

TL;DR: Worldwide prevalence increase of this disease associated to other comorbidities is proved and childhood obesity is the 21st century worlwide epidemic with no social, gender or cultural exclusion.
Abstract: Background: The childhood obesity is a serious public health problem that over time has acquired importance because years ago the concept of fatness was synonym of beauty. Obesity is a chronic, complex and mulifactorial disease. It begins in childhood and can be caused started in the childhood caused by genetical and environmental interaction. It is the main risk factor to different chronic pathologies. Objective: Increase knowledge by means of the identification, evaluation and analysis of the causes, risk factors, comorbidities and appropiate medical assessment. Methods: The present article is an analytical study product of bibliographical research of databases like Pubmed, Ovid, Rima, UpToDate and Clinical Key. Besides a local patient sample was collected with the purpose to get own statistics. Results: With the current research we proved worldwide prevalence increase of this disease associated to other comorbidities. Obese chidren without treatment will keep this condition until adulthood getting prematurely cardiovascular diseases. Conclusion: Childhood obesity is the 21st century worlwide epidemic with no social, gender or cultural exclusion. Therefore it is important to implement a healthy lifestyle from the nuclear family and schools supported by the communication media and governmental authorities. TL;DR: In this paper, an evolutionary analysis of the concept of gender violence was carried out through a review of literature published between 2000 and 2018, which included research articles related to implementation of strategies and politics; thesis; books; book chapters; and reports.
Abstract: Introduction: A concept is an idea about something or an action. Objective: To analyze the concept of “Gender Violence” from the Rodgers’ evolutionary perspective. Materials and methods: An evolutionary analysis of this concept was carried out through a review of literature published between 2000 and 2018. The inclusion criteria were: research articles related to implementation of strategies and politics; thesis; books; book chapters; and reports. They were found in the databases of Lilacs, Ebsco, SciELO, CINAHL, Web of Science, PubMed, and Google Scholar. The review also included documents from international organizations published from 2000 to 2018 in Spanish, English or Portuguese, which discussed Ibero-American issues. Results: Gender violence is a phenomenon with structural, social and political dimensions and is caused by the structural discrimination triggered by a sexgender-patriarchy system. Related terms such as gender inequality, control, asymmetric relationships were found. Likewise, surrogate terms, i.e., violence against intimate partners, women and domestic violence, were also identified. Conclusions: Gender violence constitutes a violation against human rights that affects the dignity, physical and moral integrity, freedom, and autonomy
