TL;DR: In this paper, a cost system named TADS-ABC has been designed to cost total agile design system (TADS) using activity based costing (ABC) principles, which helps an organization to design its products, processes and services to achieve agility by responding to the customers' dynamic demands.
Abstract: This paper has contributed a system to cost a model called total agile design system (TADS). Using TADS helps an organisation to design its products, processes and services to achieve agility by responding to the customers’ dynamic demands. After the description of TADS, a costing system named as TADS-ABC has been introduced in this paper. As the name implies, this system has been designed to cost TADS using activity based costing (ABC) principles. After highlighting the theory, the practical application of TADS-ABC has been illustrated by substituting the relevant data derived from a TADS implementation study. This implementation study was conducted in an electronics switches manufacturing company. After processing using TADS-ABC, the specific costs to be incurred towards TADS activities, agile criteria and evolving products in an agile manner in the above company could be arrived at. The experiences of conducting this research have been used to evolve a roadmap for successfully implementing TADS-ABC in ...

TL;DR: In this article, a photosensitive epoxy resin was synthesized from bis(4-hydroxy -3methoxy benzylidene) acetone and epichlorohydrin using solution polycondensation method.
Abstract: A photosensitive epoxy resin was synthesized from bis(4-hydroxy -3-methoxy benzylidene) acetone and epichlorohydrin using solution polycondensation method. The prepared epoxy resin was characterized by UV, IR, 1H NMR, and 13C NMR spectroscopy. The thermal stability of the epoxy resin was assessed by thermogravimetric analysis. The glass transition temperature of the polymer was determined by differential scanning calorimetry. The photocrosslinking property and photopolymerizing ability of the epoxy resin were studied in film and solution state using UV spectroscopy. The effect of photo acid generator and sensitizer on photosensitivity of the resin was also investigated. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci, 2009

TL;DR: In this article, a laboratory-scale H-shaped Pseudomonas catalyzed microbial fuel cell (MFC) was investigated for its performance in decolourizing synthetic wastewater containing azo dyes.
Abstract: A laboratory-scale H-shaped Pseudomonas catalyzed microbial fuel cell (MFC) was investigated for its performance in decolourizing synthetic wastewater containing azo dyes. The azo-dyes investigated in this study were methyl orange (MO), congo red, reactive blue 172 (RB), reactive yellow 145, and reactive red 2. Among the azo dyes in anode chamber MO resulted in the highest power density (4100 μW m−2) with graphite electrodes and a decolourization efficiency of 94%. The azo bonds were cleaved in all the dyes tested, and their metabolites in the anolytes were characterized by UV-visible spectral and HPLC analyses. To reduce the internal resistance of MFC and maximize the power density, different metal salt doped graphite epoxy composites) were tested. In the case of azo dyes MO and RB, the power output increased substantially (almost 1.2 fold) when using Mn2+—GECE compared to graphite block. © 2016 American Institute of Chemical Engineers Environ Prog, 35: 1623–1628, 2016

TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors presented a novel deep learning architecture based long short term memory (LSTM) network for severity rating of Parkinson's disease (PD) using gait pattern, which avoided the need for hand crafted features and learns the long-term temporal dependencies in the gait cycle for robust diagnosis of PD.
